Not only persistent, but advised that they cannot remove my number from the call list and I will keep getting calls!

Called out of the blue, very persistent woman (with accent, so was hard to understand) going on about saving money on my energy bills. I asked where she was calling from and she replied with "Preston, and my company name is Energy Export".

Kept talking over the top of me when I tried to question her. Apparently her business doesn't have a website. Not going to deal with someone about my electricity bill who doesn't have a website!

Had 2 calls in last 2 days. Saying can see you pay your electricity bills on time. Offering 45% discount. Line was breaking up, very poor reception. Asked if calling from Melbourne- no reply!!

Allowed the call to go to the answering machine as the number was unfamiliar to me (and interstate). They hung up without leaving a message. Sure sign of either a telemarketer or a scammer.

I have been getting more of these calls since I've been on the register, which is the opposite of what it's supposed to be.

Scam. Don't give or confirm any information. Told them to stop calling and hung up. Agree that this type of scam call is getting ridiculous. The Do Not Call Register is not working at all as it's supposed to. Surely there's something that can be done to stop these pesky nuisance calls? I'm sure many people who aren't street smart are getting diddled by these dudes. Not good, Australia!
