They rang today, I wish they would just leave a person in peace whether they are marketing or surveying, complete PITA people.

As for Mr Smart commenting about avocado, you obviously work for them and make a good impression with your personal approach chatter - you idiot !!!

These bastards called my mobile tonight at 8.14 pm. The phone stopped ringing (after 4 rings) - before I could answer it. We should hold our wonderful politicians responsible for this type of repetitive annoyance perpetrated on phone users. Surely this kind of thing could and should be made illegal, so why don't they pass laws against it?

It's not a scam.
It's not telemarketing, it is a research company doing surveys for clients who commission it.
It's not the illuminati cresting a new world order.
Survey calls are exempt from DNC register rules. You commenting here that you ate on the DNC register is about as relevant as whether or not you like avocado.

This number showed up as a missed call today. After seeing so many complaints about it on Reverse Directory, I phoned Telstra's unwelcome calls number 1800 805 996) and arranged to have it blocked. That approach worked on September 11, 2014 when I asked for (08) 6228 4053 (a repeat offender call centre) to be blocked. Telstra only blocks calls for its customers. If you are with another provider it might be worth asking if you can have a block put on any number from which these pests call you. And, if blocking unwelcome calls works for you, spread the word!

I received a call, didn't answer it as I did not know the number. My number is listed on the do not call register, and has been on the list for about 2 years now. I guess they will be calling me again. They called on 9/10/2014 at 10:44am. I will answer next time and ask for their information so I can report them for violating the DNC.

These people ring me all the time. I am on the do not call register.
They never respond and hang up after 15 seconds. I have had over 100 calls from them. These calls have a pattern through the day and at 6 37 pm they always ring, I answer and they say nothing and then they hang up.

John's (may the 5th) comment shows an obvious troll working for DMB.
Who are you John to say to us just ring them back. That is what they want.
Psy ops by which they can glean who you are and how you will react. They are conducting research but it is not what you would think or what they say, the research is about.
They are researching you and how you behave.
Dont play the game, for that is their research, how you play the annoyance and inconvenience.
It's a brave new world but these people are cowards of the new world order.

We are registered on the Do Not Call Register; obviously hasn't made a difference. Get calls on our mobiles as well as home phone. ANNOYING. I looked up DBM and sent an email via "contact them" button.

Female voice asking to me to participate in a survey. Where I had stated that we do not participate in surveys here. . . .

When you are contacted it is stated to you that their intention is to do a survey. However, what they do not state to you is that they are doing a financial services survey that is in the interests of Australia's four big banks - Australia New Zealand (ANZ), Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), National Australia Bank (NAB), and, Western-Pacific (Westpac).

This company has a web site www.dbmcons.com.au where you can look at published results from their surveys under the menu item of 'Business Banking -> Media Releases'. These publications usilise a logo of 'Business Services Financial Monitor'

While this organisation provides retoric that they are not telemarketers and this may be the case in isolation of other considerations, I am not inclined to accept this point of view as I have been contacted by other agencies that are telemarketing on behalf of, or, are one of Australia's four big banks.

The process of conducting surveys (as done by this organisation) could be used to enhance the sales and/or telemarketing processes of, other agencies acting on the behalf of, and/or, Australia's four big banks.

In addition to (03) 8862 3450, I have also been contacted from numbers (03) 8862 3400, (03) 8862 7400, and if you look more closely at this by ringing a few extra numbers you may find that the telephone number ranges of 03 8862 34xx and 03 8862 74xx connect to the same survey telephone PCX.

My call just then was about me unsubscribing from yellow pages. DBM are contracted by companies, so it may be different each time. This was a legit phone survey, they read word for word that I wrote about me unsubscribing from receiving yellow pages in the future.

Ann (from post February 12 2014) what has Centrelink got to do with the number;(03) 8862 3450?
I can say with absolute certainty that The Department of Human Services (which covers Medicare, Child Support & Centrelink) would NEVER release personal & private details to businesses such as this.
