They phoned my mobile tonight at 6.50pm. I answered the call on the 3rd ring and they hung up immediately after I answered. Not happy.

I agree with you all that telemarketers are annoying. In the case of DBM research (03) 8862 3450), just call the number back - it is not hidden because the company adheres to correct legal practices. Just listen to their recorded answering message. They are not annoying if you understand what they are doing and they will ask you if you want to respond to their survey. I do not believe that they automatically hang up but if that is your experience then you can contact them via their website (it is clearly stated when you call them) and let them know what happened. Make sure you note the time of the call and maybe count how many rings you heard.
Unless people take some form of useful action nothing will change - just getting upset only makes you more upset and nothing improves. Remember that the "bad guys" don't care if you get upset. They just keep irritating you and everyone else. If you want to help reduce annoying calls do some research and add your voice to the legitimate complaint procedures - it will take time but eventually things will change. Note that there is nothing in this website that says that your complaints will be passed on to Australian authorities - you have to do that yourself.

This number called me on 02/04/14 - Advised that it was a survey regarding Telco Services, at the end of call I was told it was to do with Telstra... 2 days later I had a call from Credit Corp saying I had an outstanding debt with Telstra... I have not had a service with them since 2010 and had sorted out my final payment once this had gone to a debt collector. If they call me back the F bomb will be flying.

I get many calls per day from this number. If I answer the call they hang up, hoping I call back. I am also on the Do Not Call Register.

yes its obvious Telstra sold my number..I've only had my phone activated for 2 weeks..and only 2 friends know my number yet.. and still I get calls form this number... Terrible Telstra!

DBM consultants are NOT telemarketers, they're a research company and therefore are exempt from the do not call register

My son called Centrelink yesterday, and sure enough, we had a missed call today from (03) 8862 3450. We are also on the "do not call" register, and we have an unlisted number.

If they're calling your mobile get an app called Call Control and add any numbers like this to your black list. It will block them immediately. It's the best way to deal with annoying calls like this.

This number has been calling for months. I have never answered the call. I am on the do not call register. Surely this harassment should be illegal

Called my mobile 26/9/13, 9:01pm, 30/9/13, 6:40pm, 1/10/13, 6:58pm, 7/11/13, 8:19pm, 11/11/13, 7:20pm, 12/11/13, 8:04pm. Completely fed up and I refuse to answer. Seems pointless being on the Do Not Call Register. Other contributors say they get calls after dealings with Centrelink. I've had nothing to do with Centrelink for at least 4 years.

Phone & hang up when you answer. We are on the do not call register but this doesn't worry them.
