6 Calls from 'citibank' so far today - correction just got another 7 - this is appalling - stop getting your computers to call us every 15 minutes - I have this no blocked on my ph so it rings once and then disconnects it - if it were a person calling they would wipe me off their call register

I called Citibank and told them to get me off their spam list but the calls persisted...Finally I answered the call to tell them to stop calling. The number is labelled Spam in my contacts so I won't be answering it in the future so don't bother calling me! Must be desperate times when a bank needs telemarketers to sell insurance.

Very angry with Citibank for receiving these annoying calls. It's obvious they want you to ring them back because their number is not blocked. In most cases, if a bank rings you their number will be blocked. I will ringing them directly to voice my anger about this very shonky business practice.

Hi Guys I called Citibank to report my Credit Card. I had just made a purchase online only to discover that the company sent me another email saying “Congratulations on you knew online membership”. Apparently taking one membership out automatically signed me up to another for $4 per month. I was not happy so I called Citibank. The woman was helpful and sorted the matter out. She stopped any further payments and cancelled my credit card. She asked if Citibank could call about Credit card Insurance. I said yes. The very next day I get a call from (02) 9191 1653 saying they are associated with Citibank. I don’t know about you, but it would appear that they are or, they have scammers working for them that is passing our information on.

Just called Citibank Philippines call centre 02.8225.0163 to be told that 02.9191.1653 02.9191.1620 belongs to a third party sub contracted by Citibank to try to extort money out of us in this GFC via insurance, something which a bank was never set up to do. Obviously the good folk at 02.9191 lack social skills, and should be sacked. Go ahead and tell the media about this, and let's end this sort of intrusio

If in fact this is Citibank, we have to get the media onto it. Holler if you want SMS numbers for various media to get this into the mainstream. Until we know who it is, keep advising Citibank to do something about it.

I have been getting these calls on my mobile (a number I give to no one) - havent answered it yet but as everyone says its from Citibank I signed into my Citibank account and there was a notice saying - Beware of phone calls claiming to be from Citibank - we will not call you and ask for your credit card details ... etc. So obviously they are aware of the scam - also the phone number doesnt match any on their site so its not a genuine call - I just keep my mobile turned off or ignore the call if I see its that number again. Hopefully they will get sick of it and give up or I might play along with them the way I do with those "microsoft" calls!

I am getting about 4 calls a day from (02) 9191 1653, I answered the first time and was concerned about the requirement of credit card details so I hung up, now I am constantly called by them.

I got the same phone call from the same number. I was ok with it UNTIL they asked for my credit card expiry date first, THEN my credit card number which I declined to give. she kept trying to pursuade me to give it out saying all these things like it's for security purpose etc etc.... they even gave me a call back number 1300 133 219 to call it in the next 5 mins with my CC details so they can sign me up. I', not sure if it is a scam. I'll rather be safe than sorryy. :)

*sigh* yes I'm having the same issue. Who should I call to report it? Police? I've picked up twice after one week of them not leaving a message. They hang up anyway so I don't know what's their purpose. Definitely not picking it up any more.
