Caller: Unsure but didn't trust it

Answered the call & just got background noise so hung up & blocked the number. Then I rang the number back from a different phone & someone from 'CBA Home Loan Team' answered. I had not applied for any type of home loan. They wouldn't give me any information until I gave them my details which I didn't. If it is legit CBA I think they need to alter the way they contact their clients - because most people would not answer a call from an unrecognised number let alone provide personal details to someone who has phoned them saying they're from CBA...

I received a missed call, thought it was from commbank as it is close to their number. I asked the bank and they confirmed it was a scam call. Not even spoofed, that is just not their number.

I don’t even bank with them. But it definitely was a legitimate call. They thought I had been on their website.

Received a call from the same number. A lady asked if I need assistance with a home loan or that I might have been on their home loan calculator, which I did a week prior from receiving this call. I was hesitant at first and the lady said to confirm via the Commbank app to make sure its them. I confirmed via the app and it was for sure them. Told her I'm not looking for a home loan at the moment. Afterwards I phoned back the same number and the Commbank automated machine came on and got hold of another woman and after explaining about the call I received, I asked her if the phone call was legit. She confirmed it was them but what is odd is how do they know that I was on their home loan calculator? I visited their home loan calculator site both on phone and PC. It might have been a coincidence but not sure. Awkward for sure!

Caller: Solar panels scam

I received a call from (02) 8529 4004 today Wednesday 27th November supposedly from someone who could improve my electricity bill. The call supposedly came from Sydney but was obviously from overseas. I gave the lady an earful and hung up on her.

Commbank. Keeps calling after I used their mortgage calculator months agog. Blocked and reported as Spam. Recommend you do the same.

Do not answer this call. They were calling me at 730pm on a Friday night. No voicemail. Do not listen to comments here either saying it’s a legimite call from CBA. That’s a lie. No back is calling you late on a Friday night when you have no home loan with them. If ever in doubt, call the bank on their website verified phone number. Never ever act foolish and just believe them. Hang up and protect yourself

Got a call from (02) 8629 4004 and they said we are from CBA, and i said dnt f*cking try to scam people. Then they sent a pop on msg on Commonwealth app. It seems to be authentic. Anyone who has got this notification " Verify call from Common Wealth bank" " please let us know of you got our call at ---- this time.

LEGITIMATE COMMBANK REP. SENT A CONFIRMATION VIA MY COMMBANK APP.

This number called me today at 2.52pm with ID of Blacktown New South Wales. I know no one from Blacktown and figured it was a fake so didn't answer call.

Asks for bank stuff. No banks would ask about these things. Check your bank branch to be sure before giving details out. If in doubt, setting things in person.

Call from CBA about my home loan on NYE, asking if I needed any assistance. I happened to have logged into my realestate.com.au account the day before and filled out info about the equity in my property. More than a coincidence I believe, particularly given the time of year. They say that if you’re not paying for a service, you’re probably the product - evidently realestate.com.au sells it’s users information.
