Supposedly from Aust Tax O ffice threatening dire consequences if not called back immediately. Cant trace this number and is possible scam. Similar calls in USA see Telephone scam in Seaside site. Ignored the call.

Rang them back with my number blocked spoke to alleged ATO officer. Told him to stop harassing Australian citizens and that he was a cop artist. He got very upset when I said that he would be referred to Australian Federal Police. He kept digging a bigger hole for himself and was shouting hysterically that he was from the ATO office. Mission accomplished and I said what did it feel like to be harrassed and thanked him then hung up. Might ring him again in a few days to see how he is traveling

ATO Scam

No its NOT DEALT with. Call received on 29th July from this number saying they were from the ATO and threatening Court Action and Police. Very distressing for my elderly father.

Had a call from this number on Friday. Caller hung up when call forwarded to mobile. Judging by other comments I'm still in trouble with ATO. Reported on Scamwatch.

Number is now dealt with.

I must really be in trouble, got 3 messages from Jason today, left on answering machine. NO I do not intend on replying to him!!!!!

Appears Jason O'Connor is a busy man, left 3 threatening messages on our answering machine today. Must really think people are that stupid not to smell a rat.

He left the same message on voicemail that everyone got. Claiming to be from the ATO, he was Jason O'Connor, local police was on their way to issue a warrant for my arrest, i've been charged with fraud & i'm required to ring him on the phone number he left behind.
Definitely a scam!!!!

Have had 6 calls in the last two days from this scammer.
Drives me nuts. Message left each time on answering machine.

multiple calls left on answering machine to call "Jason O'Connor" back on (02) 8317 3328 re tax evasion/ATO. Always knew never to call back. Escalating rubbish threatened, in an Indian/.Pakistani-type accent. Same story as all the people en masse here who have already described exactly the same bother I've kept copping. Makes me laugh at the stupidity and time wastage of this tool, but sad for any gullible or elderly who may fall into the traps this scam attempts to lay. Frustrated there isn't a way for Telstra to block these sorts of calls.

Apparently the police from the local police department will be visiting me with an arrest warrant due to tax fraud.
Thing is, no names are mentioned, it's a recorded message AND IM NOT f*ckING STUPID

I received a message from someone saying there was a law suit being issued against me. I didn't even listen to the message to the end, I just deleted it. This would really upset the elderly or any other vulnerable person.

I received this call on Monday but didn't check my voicemail til today (Wednesday) same issue from a indian guy claiming his name was "Jason O Connor" lucky I got caller display on my home phone so if he tries to call again I'm going to call him out
