Just got a call from this number someone speaking chinese said hello and then couldn't hear anything then they hung up. Most likely phishing for info.

I got a call from this number that was quiet for thirty seconds before i just received an automated "goodbye". I freaked out for half an hour (I'm an admittedly very paranoid person) and was home alone. It was really creepy. Don't know what they were tying to do.

Called several times on this number and the leave garbled pocket dial messages - and also they call from a private number and do the same - something dodgy and hopefully they aren't waiting for message banks to be able to stay on long enough to then trace the calls and use that somehow??

They rang us last week -- in New Zealand, no less -- in order to leave a message on our answer machine consisting of muffled noises of perplexity.

I got this number calling yesterday...they call my husband first, but my husband can't undertand her accent, so he hand up...after 1hour the same number call me ask about my husband, i said who's that?? And they hand up...I don't know why they know my number and my husband number too....what they want?

Just Received the call, and asking for my name and identity, She keep pushing speaking chinese, and luckily i can speak abit, It's no purpose of why she called, and laughing abit, when i can't answer a quesion, the suspect is in australia

I keep getting calls from this number too. Always at 6pm on the dot. And they speak in an Asian language.

Phishing call

My number is on the Do Not Call register yet this number has been calling me for the last few months numerous times a day and not leaving a message. I answered once and a machine said 'hello' and then there was just silence so i hung up.

Starting ringing about a week ago. Left voice message of disturbed incoherent muttering. Either low rent call centre or someone's dropped their phone into Taronga's gorilla cage

Got a call from this number yesterday saying he was a telstra tech, and that I had a problem with my internet and he would guide me through the process of fixing it. Told him I couldn't be sure he was from telstra so said I would contact them about it. He offered up his direct line & staff ID number so I could call him back on that. Scammer!!!!

i got a call from this number and he said he was from windows and i have a problem with my computer-i said i don`t have one and he said you have a laptop-i said i don`t and he said you`re joking with me you have a laptop- i said i don`t and he hung up

I received a call from the same number, but FGS, it was at midnight!. I never heard it, I had the phone in my bedroom turned down, thank goodness. When I woke up this morning, I saw the light flashing. There was no message on my answering machine, obviously just another scam..But 11.55 pm..Glad I never heard it, and certainly won't answer it.Isnt it strange that no messages are left on my answering machine, I will not answer private numbers on my phone either, unless they leave a message from someone I know..How can I block my home phone? Probably have to pay Telstra to block them..😄

Received a call from (02) 8279 7630 a short while ago - claiming to be from a research company (they gave the name, but I have not remembered it). Caller said they were doing a research survey on banks (I thought I would play along for a while). Caller asked me what is my favourite bank (I answered ANZ). End of survey (harmless)
This morning I received a call from an overseas number. Often I ignore, but when I answered I was told the caller was from the ANZ bank and was calling about my account. I told them I did not have an account with the ANZ. Caller hung up.

Got a call yesterday claiming it was telstra and he could give me a discount on my home line. Could hardly speak English and started to get hostile when I said it was a scam call and hung up. He rang back from this number talking flat out refused to listen to me asked how much I paid for my last bill. I said if you were from telstra you would know and hung up.

Got a call just a few minutes ago, was at work so I searched up the number whilst it was still ringing, came across this site and glad that I didn't waste time answering. =D

When my online girlfriend calls my cell phone from her cell phone her caller ID sometimes displays this number (02) 8279 7630 - yet at other times her normal, usual caller ID is displayed. I told her about this and she was very surprised and worrie. So we experimented. Both of using Skype video I then asked her to call my cell phone using her cell phone and closely watched her as she entered my phone numberon her cell phone keypad and called me. The first time she called her usual caller ID number was displayed ,but the 2nd time she called the 02827967630 caller ID number was displayed. 3rd, 4th, and 5th time her usual caller ID was displayed , 6th and 7th time the (02) 8279 7630 number was displayed. Sometimes her ID, sometimes the (02) 8279 7630 number. I answered all calls (both her usual ID and the (02) 8279 7630 one) and regardless of which ID was being displayed it was always my gf on the other end of the call. I am hoping someone can help me solve this puzzle. I met my online girlfriend on an Asian Dating website and have been chatting with her almost everyday for the past 5 months. Maybe she is a scammer, maybe she is not. Maybe she has had her phone hacked or infected, maybe it is mine. I will appreciate and be very thankful of any help whatsoever in solving this - I am VERY KEEN to get to the bottom of it as you may very well imagine.
