Immediately he said that I have had an accident in the last 2-3 years, I asked him where he was calling from like 6 times... frustrated at me asking him the same question a few times, he asked me if i have been in an accident, to which I replied "No". He apologised and said he must have the wrong information and hung up. Definitely a scam! Tried calling back to hear the company name but it rung out with no answer and no voicemail.

The only way to stop these calls is to be aware of who you give your number to. Whenever someone asks for your number, check who they will be passing it onto. Databases of phone numbers are bought by marketing companies all the time so check the website you're entering your phone number into what their privacy policy is and whether they share your number to third parties. Also, don't enter competitions that ask for your phone number. They are a classic.

I’ve had almost daily calls from this number. I only answered once and realised it was a scam and put it into my contacts as ‘scam number’. Any way to stop these calls?
