They shot the 2 Bali nine for drugs correct ? How about shooting some of these Indians enough is enough

These people are scum bags, try to take advantage of peoples' trust.

My parents have been harassed with these calls...someone needsto put a stop to it NOW....before some old pensioner out there gets caught up with this scam...

Hi, my parents had the same call yesterday, & were advised they would receive $7268 & to ask for Rose Brown or Alice Wilson. I called the number myself & ask who I was speaking with & was told it was the Australian Federal Government department of Finance! Really? We have such a department. I promptly posted this scam on the ACCC site & have now found this forum. Gosh, I just feel sorry for the gullible people out there.

My aged mother (88 years old) got her call today. Told it was the National Bank calling to give her a refund of ( yes you guessed it) $7,268 from the Federal Gov due to unspecified overcharging. Nearly had a heart attack but asked me to ring Rose. Thank goodness for this website.

Same dodgy caller with Indian accent claiming to be Paul Johnson, same manager names and phone numbers provided and sadly same amount of money $7268. When told that I was on the do not call register he said he knew that as he was with the Australian Government.
Ha! Should have asked him who he was going to vote for tomorrow in NSW elections if he was in Sydney.!!

I received the phone call today. Told me I had a refund of $7,268 coming my way. I had to quote ref # 016A and i was told to call the manager on (02) 8091 3550. The Managers were Miss Rose Brown and Miss Alice Wilson. Both had indian accents. So dodgy!

I just received the same call. When they asked for my date of birth I said that if they were who they said they were they could tell me. He started getting cranky and told me He knows it he just needs to confirm it. I asked him to at least give me the birth month first. He hung up on me. Damn, I want my 7K! lol

I just received the phone call.

Exactly the same - they wanted to send me a cheque of $7000 or so.

Said they were calling from the Australian Federal Government (australia.gov.au).

When asked how come they were ringing from an American number he said they were using a software - +1 (607) 735-0885

Please do something about this. I did not give them any details apart from my home address and date of birth.

Person who rang me said his name was Daniel Murray (with an Indian accent)

They then gave me a reference number and to ring either one of their Managers
- Rose Brown (02) 8091 3550
- Alice Wilson (02) 8091 3550

In which he said he would transfer me to right away. I said no, I'll ring them myself (which I have not) and hung up.

Something needs to be done to stop these guys.

Had the same call. When they cannot pronounce my sir name I hang up. Why is it that these scum cannot be stopped.

Yes I just got this same thing saying they were from a federal government and I was entitles to a refund. Not giving out my info to anyone on the phone. Scammers for sure.

Rang today, same drivel - told them I would never give out my bank details and they give me Rose Brown's number to call - googled the number and got all of your comments.

Now I am worried I gave my full name and DOB. No bank infor though, not the name of the bank or anything. Should I be worried

Just had the same call, Rose Brown, ring the number. I gave him my full name and date of birth then he wanted to know which bank I was with. I said I would not tell him that, but then he said to ring the manager to confirm I am who I say and they will send me a cheque. I do not think so. Hope the details I gave this person dont cause me any hassle.

Just talked with Lisa, from this number, same old routine, "I'm entitled to a refund". HA HA

I just received acall too asking for dob why can't Telstra trace the (02) 8092 3550 number and put these idiotic scum in jail forever.

I received a call from this number today and the caller was Paul Johnson. Paul said to me that I am entitled to $7268 due to bank overcharged me over last 5 years. And the govt is giving the over charged amount back. I do not understand why the amount is same for everyone? And when I told the manager (paul's manager Rose Brown ) that she has an Indian accent, she did not like it very much. I think the Police should track these people down and deal with them appropriately.

Same phone call same amount purporting to be from the Australian Federal Govt only the man with the Indian accent was Paul Johnson (rolls eyes) I told him if I had been overcharged over $7,000 I would certainly know about it because I have never had that much in the bank. Idiots really think we all came down in the last shower. I feel for the elderly who usually can't fend for themselves in these cases as they have been brought up to be trusting of the Govt.

My Husband got the same phone call today asking for bank details DOB and exactly same amount $7268. Where do we report this?
