Got a call from them yesterday and today but hung up on them - they were claiming to be from the ATO yesterday and today they're in the 'Tax Choice Investigation team'. I hung up on them. Scammers!!!

Owe ATO money, $3410, wants me pay via Visa or Mastercard or else police will be contacted and I'll be arrested. Also there was no need to pay the whole amount, just a part of it to show that I am serious about repaying it. When I started questioning him further, he passed me on to his supervisor, Bishop, who repeated the same thing. I became suspicious when I queried what address I was at and he gave me the address from 6 years ago!!!

heavy accent, cant really understand, asked him to repeat 5 times before I kind got the message, asked him his name and he said he is david parker, i said send me an email from ato.gov.au domain so we can talk. he hanged up

It is a scam call. Pretending to be from ATO. Name is Edward. Heavy Indian accent. Stay away or abuse the bastards if you like.

Scam Call. Claimed to be from the ATO saying I owed a tax debt.

Claims to be from ATO and wanted my Criminal Lawyer

Claimed to be from ATO and have a refund. Wanted to know VISA or Master Card details to refund the money to.

I cut him off as soon as he said he was from the ATO in Canberra. I have been contacted before by "ATO" saying I had a lawsuit against me so I gave this foreign bastard a piece of my mind!!!

A guy with a strong Indian accent claiming to be called John Peterson saying he was from the ATO. Tested him with a couple of simple questions and said I had passed his number on to the police before he hung up. Clearly a scam so just block the number.

Called and left a voice mail. Said it was the tax office and for myself or my lawyer to contact them back. Obviously a scam. Blocked the number.

called an said from "the fraud department of the tax office the ATO". I asked for payroll number so I can call him back on the usual ATO number. he hung up.

Indian ATO scam. Tried to tell me they were investigating me. Called them back & they offer me a refund.

Yep, scam. Dumbest thing ever, asking for a Mastercard/VISA number to deposit a tax refund? seriously.

They have A LOT of personal information (full name, address). Where do they source this information!?

Absolute scam. Did make me laugh when they told me they were outside watching my house.

I think they know people are on to them. I heard "Tax Department" in heavily accented Indian and sais "Ohh Gad!!" in disgust and "Go Away" and the guy was definitely unnerved!! I then hung up. There are too many people pulling this scam now. I get calls from all over Australia saying the same thing. I block them as they come but there is always a new number trying that scam on.

Called my mobile: I received a computerised voicemail telling me there is an officer waiting at my home OR place of work and i should call back.
I called back on landline and asked one question and the guys hung up on me.....total scam
