Person (heavy accent) called saying he was from the ATO and had a refund to be paid and wanted my bank account details updated. I told him my refund was for more than he said. He said they had done an audit of the last 5 years. I asked di dthey do that without notifying me? He hungup. I did not get to tell him that I work for the ATO. LMFAO

Same as others, I called the number back and they pretended that they couldn't hear me and then said f*ck you, you are a piece of sh*t. Pretty funny

Bloody scammer - it was pretty obvious, Indian accent, telling me federal police will arrest me within 48hrs.. I was making fun of him and he said 'are you being smart?', I looked up the number as we spoke and found this site.. I said hey look I just looked up your number and there are hundreds of reports saying it's a scam what do you think of that? he mumbled something and hung up.. pfft.. I wish there was more we could do to bring some justice to these scammers.

Called me claiming to be ATO. Requested my card details to refund me 938.25. I played dumb. haha. Then phoned back 52 times to waste their time. Had lots of fun

Didn't get the enjoyment of chatting to them, but left a quality robot voice recording saying "blah blah blah please call back before police officer at your door"...

Said they were from the ATO in Canberra, when I questioned why the phone number came up as a NSW number not a ACT number they hung up.

I put several fraud case with local police. They don't even bother. I gave up.

Is our Federal Police or Australian Tax Office monitoring these idiots/scumbags who prey on the disadvantged people? I wonder how can such a post on this same number be existing over a period of time! Somebody registered (02) 8090 6580 and this can be traced easily, if not, then take the telco to task!

Guy with indian accent claiming to be from the ATO and said I had a $500 something refund due. Hung up at that point.

Claims to be ATO and guy's name was Officer 'something' which no one should bother.

Indian scammer claiming to be from the tax office wanting to deposit $1000 to my vis or mastercard. Hung up the minute I called him a scammer.

Someone with middle eastern accent called my daughter several times - last time calling her by her name saying there's an arrest against her and that she should call back to "sort it out"!! - Shes just blocked the number now.

Got a good 5 minutes with him giving lots of wrong info and calling him an idiot. $1,200 was too big of an amount for him to process so was put through to his supervisor. Unfortunately the call dropped :(

i got a call today saying i have tax refunds available and need to give them my credit card details so they can deposit the money, bloody scammers

Missed call on my phone , Indian man answered return ph call stating his employee number and stated was from ato ..... I started laughing and said "yeah right , haha I don't think so " and he hung up immediately. .... dam I wanted to play with him for a bit for fun ! Love pretending I can't get my credit card numbers right for as long as scammers stay on the call for !!!
