Yeah Indian accent just called me and same deal regards accident. I asked him the name of his company and he wouldn't give it. I told him I was not going to give any details and He said bye and hung up. This is in Central Qld. What are they actually after, bank acct details or something else. I would be interested to know. I rang back a few minutes later and a guy answered with Accident Investigation Dept and said hello. I hung up.

I rang this number but before hand placed 1831 before dialing to make my call private (as advised by Telstra). I then proceeded to spin them the same bullsh*t story they say when they call me and asked how did they like being scammed. I was shocked to learn that my number was not blocked and the chap was able to tell me the exact town etc where I was calling from. So in the end when you call this number it directs to an overseas line, hence why my number was not blocked. I then spoke to Telstra who were kind enough to block this number from calling me ever again.

We have also had this scammer call us multiple times in QLD. They claim to be from the Accident Help Line. Calling telstra to ban this number. (02) 8006 7686

Just had a phone call today at work- which I a registered Do Not Call number, looking for someone that had been involved in a car accident in the last 12 months. All the way in Central QLd

Called this morning, Indian/Paki sounding man with lots of voice noises in the background so i knew it was a scammer. . Said he was with Accident Investigation Department - then said we have info that someone on this number has been involved in an accident in the last 12 months. I asked how he got this number and he said that 'many insurance companies give him this number' I then asked if he wanted my bank details straight away so we could get this scam over with quickly .HaHa. He then hung up. How rude is that? Bl**dy scammers.

I just received a call from 'overseas' even though it is (02) 8006 7686.
Immediately I check on Google and just what I thought....another scammer.
When will they realise that not everyone is a dumb as they are.

These scammers rung today about some car accident I had , amazing I don"t have a car and don"t drive

Chris (he spelt it Chras) called from (02) 8006 7686 regarding a motor vehicle accident claim I was entitled to from a crash in 2014, I am glad I survived. I said I was busy could I call him back. (I work at a local South Australian Police Station by the way!!!!!). He said yes then hung up. He called back within 2 mins with the same story and was confused when I told him that we had already spoken and that I would call him back. His company is claimed to be Accident Help Line. Chris

Called regarding an accident. Asked me who had been driving. I asked where they were and she said Sydney. I told her I had never lived in Sydney so they must have the wrong number.

Scam caller with a recorded message says they are from the ATO and I had better call them before I am arrested. Heap of sh*t - ATO send you a letter is there is a problem.

Called me yesterday 25 August 2015. Indian sounding man. Accident Investigation Department - company Accident Injury Helpline. Said we have info that someone on this number has been involved in an accident recently. How awful is that? Bl**dy scammers.

Had one of these calls stating someone driving my car had accident in last 12 months.
Said we hadn't, then he said someone in the family must have. Told him know only hubby and I drive car and we'd had no accidents. Then he said must have wrong number. Was of indian/paki accent. SCAM

Yes if its a Telstra line ....just phone Telstra ....will take you around 20 minutes , so don't use your mobile to phone

Wanting to talk to the person who had a car accident in the past 2 years even though I am the only adult living in the house and has never had a accident. FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD.

have received 4 calls today when you call the number back they call themselves Sydney Claims Lawyers and pretend they can not hear you until to let them know you know it is a scam then they hang up. 02 800 67686

100% insurance scammer looking to acquire sensitive information. Same as others, Indian accents that said there was a no-fault claim available. Most likely looking to gather sensitive personal information for ID theft. Didn't even know my name so told them they have the wrong number. I also have a silent number so I suspect they've accessed some sensitive contact information through one of those great Australian companies that have outsourced their call centres to overseas. Why the name isn't a part of that information is a bit strange though.

Indian accent, asked about someone from this number having a car accident in the past year. Strung this guy along for five minutes before he said he couldn't help. Just before I hung up I called him a scammer. Beware. This was in Bundaberg, but could be cold calling anywhere. Number is supposed to be silent...how did they get it?

Yep they tried it on with me today. Some sort of "accident authority". And now possibly suffering from hearing loss after I let go an ear piercing scream at her!
