Received a few calls in just an hour from this number. was a bad connection than finally got a clear line, A man with a strong accent claiming to be from my bank about some untransfered money. but when I said what bank are you representing he cut the call. seems like they are running a lucrative criminal operation trying to rort money out of gullible people. with my call they said from a bank but with most they are claiming they are from a government department.

Sorry, your mother's money is gone. There is no such Government Department as the Reclaims Department. If you are overcharged on bank fees, your bank automatically deposits this back into your account. These parasites are in business because they manage to catch about 10-20% of the people they call, mainly the elderly. These guys operate from overseas so are outside Australian jurisdiction.

This number is a total scam. Have received 3 phone calls in last few hours.

The first 2 calls told me that I had excess bank charges and interest that I was able to reclaim from my bank (then asked me which bank I was actually with - surely they would know that???) and claimed to be from the Australian Reclaims Department of the Australian Government. The first call cut out and then they called back.

They wanted my full birth name, DOB and bank details. I didn't give them any.
I asked for the call back number regarding this and to have the details either posted or emailed to me and then I would take up the matter with my bank myself. They got upset when I said this and said they needed all my details for a cheque to be sent - and that it was important that they had the bank account details.

I advised that they didn't need my bank details for a cheque as I would deposit this myself. They then hung up on me.

The third call was a couple hours later they tried the old Microsoft needs to access your computer crap ... maybe they thought that by waiting a while I wouldn't recognise the same voice?? So stupid ... My phone is off the hook for the rest of the day now. Fed up

Had a call today, same as the others, had my address wanted my DOB, said I had over $7000 owing. I went on the computer and looked up Australia Reclaim Dept whilst I was talking to her, said it was a scam. She replied if I didn't want the money they would document that. Number and name of supervisor is (02) 8006 8345 and Sherry Johnston

The number my indian caller 'adam' gave was 02 800 47501. Said hes from Reclaimed Finance Dept of Aust Gov. I was quite aggressive in disbelieving him, so he provided Angelina Coopel as a managers name unprompted. I told him I did NOT believe he was calling within Aust.

We received the same call, from an Indian claiming himself calling from department of reclaim and sort of bullsh*t.My husband answered the phone call first,my husband knew about the scam but he kept entertain the scammer. The penny dropped when the reference number was given with the forward slash which I assume was a computer number or website. The phone number is absolutely not a Sydney number and also a digit short. My husband did gave the wrong bank name, the scamer knew my husbands name and address, asked the DOB.Suddenly the line gone off and the same guy rang again and I answered the call with grumpy voice and he got nervous.I told him we will call the number and hang up.

Hi Just had the same situation, they called my husband and said they had $5248.00 for me. They would sue the Government and the lawyers fee would be $199 sent via western union. Once I had sent the $199 they would bring a check to my house. If I didnt get it they would refund the $199. Checked the AUSTRALIA RECLAIM FINANCE DEPT-(who she said was part of the federal govenment????) Alarm bells went off straight away. It is a scam- (Scam Watch website) and should be treated as such. Too good to be true.

I have just received the same call as Hat from a Krystal Williams. The managers name I was given was Shirley Collins, the number to phone was (02) 800 68931. Reclaim App No also S01 & the amount also $4,288. I was silly enough to confirm my mobile & bank name, but no account numbers.

This morning around 10.20 am a lady by the name of Krystal Williams called saying she was from the Australian Reclaim Experts Department. First she didn't speak anything for a few seconds when I answered the call. She new my name and address. I asked her as to why she wants to know all that then she said that the australian govt had done a survey and found that the banks were charging some hidden fees from all the customers so the govt has selected 15,750 customers who are entitled for a refund of all the charges they have been wrongly charged and I was one among them and I was entitled to receive 4,288 dollars. Then she asked me as to which bank I was dealing with from the last 20yrs and also my mobile number for her to send the details, foolishly I mentioned the name of the bank and my mobile number. Then she gave me the number (02) 8007 3795 and told me that I should call this number rightaway after she hung up and talk to Mr Mervin Greens, her finance manager and give him the file no so1, he will tell me as to how I will receive the cash. I did call that number and the so called mr greens spoke with an accent and asked me if I have understood as to why I was receiving this money and all that and he told me I need to go to the nearest Post office and deposit a small amount of 275 dollars and the post office will give an amount of 2000 dollars in cash and the rest of the amount will be sent as a cheque by courier in one hours time that is when I got a doubt and called the Post office which told me that they were not aware of anything about the govt doing this. While I was in the middle of typing this message the guy called my mobile to find out if I was at the PO so I told him I know it was all a scam he got mad at me and started speaking very rudely. Please beware of these frauds don't fall a prey to them and reveal any of your details. I called the federal police because I had disclosed the name of my bank and given them my mobile no as well.

Got 2 calls this morning (both with Indian accent.) The first caller said I was entitled for an interest rebate from my bank. Told him that's a lot of bulsh*t, not interested and hung up. Then 2 hours later another Indian girl called me with same story. Her name is Krystal Williams and claims to work at Australian Reclaim Expert Dept. as a verification Officer. She told me that I have a reclaim of $288 for bank overcharged fees. She asked me a few questions for verification purposes such as my mob no. which I refused to give, spell out my name, which I did and my address so the cheque can delivered to me. She also asked the name of my bank which I refused to give at first and later did coz she said that they need to check if I was the right person. She also asked if I have a drivers licence to serve as a form of identity when they deliver the chq. She's given phone no. (02) 8007 3795 to call his finance manager, Mr Mervyn Green and to quote Reclaim No S01 when I speak to him. Straight away I jumped online to check if this is legitimate. And here we go, it's a scam!!!! Luckily I didn't ring that bloody Mr green back.
