Say the are calling from "the accident claims department, has someone on your phone number had a car accident in the last two year?". They are fishing. Don't proceed with the conversation. Any proper insurer will have the contact details of the policy owner and will ask for them by name and will fully disclose their own identity and the reason for their call.

I said..."please, a thousand apologies for saying your mothers breath smells like the filthy arse of an old camel".....he kept going and I tried not to laugh. finally..."OOooo, are you a dumb f-cker?", he ask me to repeat the question...."i say again, a thousand apologies, please forgive me".... and at that point had another call come in. I can't wait until he calls again!

Just received a telephone call from this number. Indian accent had our full name, address & contact number. Stating that they wanted to speak to the person who had a claim at this address. I asked what insurer they are representing and they said Australian Claims - As I work in the insurance industry I knew this company does not exist so I asked again and they said Common Law. I asked for the claim number and details so of course they hung up.

Just had a call from (02) 8006 0050 ... exactly the same as "Annette" reported 10 November 2016 .... this is a scam call .... calling from "the accident claims department, has someone on your phone number had a car accident in the last two year?". They are fishing. Don't proceed with the conversation.... hang up immediately. Any proper insurer will have the contact details of the policy owner and will ask for them by name and will fully disclose their own identity and the reason for their call.

Just had a call from them today. This one was about malware on my computer. I kept it going as long as possible as I knew they were up to no good. If they were intent on scamming I figured may as well have fun with it. Long story short they hung up after 20mins of trouble shooting when we both realized my computer wasn't turned on. Can't wait for them to call me again.

Had a missed call from this number as I was working. I don't know anyone in Sydney so googled the number as suspected a scammer. Yep.... Judging by all these comments, they are.. I disguised my number and tried to call them back and of course, the call cut out within about 3 seconds.. beware!!

Had a bit of fun with them. Had two people speak to me . They eventually gave up when they realized my name really was not Donald Duck and that I was born in 1901 and drove a Ferrari and had neck pain

Just had the same call a moment ago, was caught by surprise and answered her question about having an accident but when I said it was my fault she hung up. I just tried calling the number back and got the message after three rings this call could not be connected.

Have been receiving calls from this number to all phones in our office, first they advised they are calling from the "claims department" re car accidents in the last two years. I hung up - they have continued to call at least 20 more times. When you call back the message is "call cannot be connected at this time"

I just had this call also! They asked me about a car accident 2 years ago, I said I had one longer than 2 years ago, she said was it 2015 or 2014, I said I think maybe 2014. Then she said ok, and hung up? WTF is going to happen now?

This is about the 4th time I've had this type of call. It was supposedly from Accident Claims Department of a company called Common Law Claims. Not very imaginative but excellent for recognizing as a scammer. I make it a practice of asking the scammer's phone number supposedly so I can call back to ensure it is genuine. Most of the time they give it to me; I ring them back with my number blocked to see what happens, which can be quite interesting. Then I report the details and the number to scam watch. If more people do this and maybe will help to cut down the fraud rate.

This time (she) the caller wouldn't give me the number only kept repeating their spiel, but the number showed up on my incoming call register as this one. I told the them they were scammers and trying to steal my money - then I gave them a sob story about being an elderly pensioner and not having enough money to put food on the table for my 12 children and that she was a scammer. "You (the caller) must be proud of herself trying to rob a struggling old man". She hung up.
