I have had this 2 times recently, I tell them I have recorded the call & am going to the AFP( I have a family member who is in the AFP) and tell them, that's funny as I am by myself & I'm perfectly fine & healthy. I'm not stupid enough to fall for scams.

This is how it went... "This is accident claims. Have you had a car accident in the last 2 years?" A nanosecond of thinking and they heard me laugh loudly and then say, 'This the weakest scam I have heard'. They hung up immediately. I hope I have not hurt their feelings :)

I have had stacks of these calls from (02) 8006 0050 the ones I answered were an obvious scam"I bring about your accident, you are pay for damage our clients car". I got sick of it and contacted Telstra on 1800 805 996 they were able to black the number.

Yes just had them too, asking if anyone has had an accident in the last 2 years. I fired questions back to them saying that you tell me, you would have the details, I kept on asking questions back to them he said he was from the Australian Claims Department and got my number from the Road Safety Council. He did quote a web site too that started with www. He didn't get far with me.As I kept firing back questions to him, one was well you must have the details there, you tell me if there has been an accent, the date and the name of the person. He wanted me to verify first if there had been an any accident in the last 2 years. HUGE SCAM, they use an automotive machine generated number id to get your number even if it is unlisted. Please dont not get fooled. He got nothing from me.

I just had a call from this mob so thanks for heads up. How they got your number is easy, they ring area code (eg 02) suburb prefix (eg 87830 then go from 0001 to 9999 for the last four digits. So they don't know if it is a private number on the Do Not Call List or anything they are just fishing/phishing.

Just had the same call with the message as above. Indian accent, hung up immediately. We have a silent number as well, that has not been given out much, so, as usual, how did they find "ours"..
