Same name, same message and same number saying they were the ATO. I did call back but it rang out.

A friend received a call from this number, supposidly the ATO - Australian Tax Office, informing him they are starting a law suite against him and to call back immediately on the above number .
No1. The ATO do not divulge and leave these sort of unsolicited calls.
No2. It was computer generated,with an American accent.
No3. Australia does not use the term ' law suite' that's an American term,we use the term 'legal proceedings'
No4 He's only been in business 13 weeks,so ????

ATO rang me from this number - saying they were going to send police around and arrest me for tax evasion and left this number on my machine to call back on this number

ATO after me for tax evasion what a........s spread the word!!!!!!Very rude and don't like being rang back!!!!! But watch out they might charge you overseas rate for the phone call. Shame on them get a real job!!!!! Assh........oles

I too have had 2 messages last 2 days left on my answering machine from this number (02) 614 03475 and a Jason O'connor saying an online report has been put in about tax evasion if I don't want a warrant issued and be jailed to ring him back, yeah right as if.
I feel sorry for vulnerable people they ring with their Scam, hope they are caught

Recieved message claiming to be from ATO. Reported to www.scamwatch.gov.au.

Same nonsense as everyone else....ATO, Jason O'Connor, arrest warrant out for me for tax evasion....call them immediately before the police turn up. Not calling back.

Received a threatening message on our answering machine today about a warrant being executed for our arrest - claimed to be calling from the Australian Taxation Department - (02) 6140 3475. What a fraud - DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER.

SCAM - call claiming to be the ATO and claiming they're issueing a warrant for your arrest if money isn't paid today into an account, must be done in cash.

It is a scam that is going around at the moment - do not offer to pay the tax they say is owing - there is nothing about it that seems genuine.

ATO rang home number about a tax evasion saying I was going to be arrested.

I received a phone call also from this number, person calling said his name was Jason O'Connell? from ATO calling about a tax evasion, which was going to be escalated to police who will soon be issuing a warrant for my arrest.

I received a call from this number as well today stating the same, alleging the I am to contact a Jason O'Conner from the ATO before the police come around and issue a warrant for Tax evasion. First O'Conner I have ever heard will a middle eastern accent

A person imposing himself to be from the Australian Taxation office called claiming of an impending court action and potential arrest warrant to be issued for taxation evasion.

Beware of such calls from financial fraudsters preying on vulnerable people falsely threatening them in order to achieve criminal financial gain.
