Received same message on the15th June 2015. She calls herself Elaine of Asian decent.

Just had a distressing phone call from my mum, in regards to the same. Our Accountant has advised us to call the police and inform them.
Lets shut these bastards down .

Exactly same today as above notices. Asain lady from cddp? For tax evasion, house under surveillance.. (good luck with our dobermans then!) ..then said if we attempt to contact government or police they will detain us...Scam..will report to gov and police straight away nothing to hide here! Oh just a note ato would contact with a registered post letter and through accountant, and actually mention the persons name that they actually wish to contact!

Just arrived home and checked answering machine with Asian female voice giving me a message with the words "Dept Public Prosecutions", "affidavit" and "failure to return the phone call may result in prosecution".
Great to be able to check the number and know that it is a scam.

Message was identical to others who have reported scam - almost enough to spoil my holiday. Thank heaven for the Internet whichputmymind at rest after typing number into Safari. One would think that because it is a landline it would be easily traceable and shut down / police action

Very threatening phone call. The Asian man said he was a police officer quoted badge no pl 2732 employee id9014. I said I was busy and to ring back in an hour. I immediately contacted the police who said that the id belonged to a female officer and that it was a scam. The Asian gentleman rang back when I informed him that I had contacted the police and that the id he gave me belonged to a female he hung up.

We had exactly the same type of call, threatening,bullying.It was on my message bank when I got home from work.The threats were still continuing when the message bank cut them off.Thought it was a scam. Thank you all for posting.Very helpful.What can we do about it?

I received the same message today. Thankfully I read all these comments and realised it's not legit. I was worried for a few moments though. On first hearing it I found it to be a convincing message. This is the second different scam for me in a week. They are getting bolder more aggressive.

SCAM number. Tried to con my elderly mum out of $5500, had her driving to her bank under threat of ATO and police action. Bastards!

Same message here. Clearly not genuine. At least she did ask me to 'have a great day'.

I got same message today what does this achieve but stress on the person receiving the message

Received a call from this number today saying the same thing (from CDPP representing ATO, an affadavit has been received for tax evasion etc, with no mention of name). I am certain it is a SCAM - block the number!

I arrived home this afternoon to a very strange and somewhat threatening message on my answer phone. The lady's voice was somewhat difficult to understand but she said she was calling from CDPP (Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecution concerning an 'important issue to' do with tax and the ATO. I have tried numerous times to return the call on the number given but lines are permanently engaged. I am quite puzzled but concur that this is a scam call. I will report to number on CDPP website tomorrow: interestingly their lines are also busy?!

Just received a call from this number. Very much the same story. The number seems to be active again as I rang back. Eventually I worked out it sounded suspicious and hung up. They also told me an affidavit had been received from the ATO for tax evasion and my house was under surveillance. As I asked more and more questions the man on the other end got very edgy and wanted me to commit to resolving the issue over the phone otherwise I would be issued a court summons within 45min. Good to have the computer handy and found these comments about the phone number. I promptly hung up.

We got exactly the same Will and my husband got worried and called back but all lines in the area are preseumably busy. We've just lodged our tax and received our refund from ATO last week!!!! Anyone know what the intention might be?
