Also contacted ATO! I've ordered the 'karmic bus' for Jason & his cohort.

Like all the previous comments, Jason called from the ATO and indicated i (no one specifically named) was under investigation for tax evasion and an arrest warrant was being issued by the police department. Interesting that I should need to call this guy back at the ATO.... If he were a whistle blower, he sounded sinister.
I will not call this guy back. Everyone in my household's taxes are up to date.

Silly thing is , I don't earn nearly enough to have a tax problem, and anyway, the ATO have my e-mail so why would they bother calling me.

I had the same recorded message today. I did ring back and he knew all my information - telephone number and address - scary!!!! He said he had to post out a parcel and wanted to know my accountants name and address. When I asked him to check what it was about, he hung up on me. I kept calling back and getting hang ups, then tried from another phone and said that I was sending the police around to him for ringing on a "Do Not Call" number.

Got a similar phone call from Jason. I rang the ATO and reported it to them.

Got the same "automated" message on my machine today from this Jason OConnor. Being a Chinese, his accent sounds Chinese to me. My answering machine greeting is in Chinese. Assume all 9 private caller missed calls are from him, wouldn't any sensible person leave a message in a language the household will deffinitely understand for a serious issue like this? What worries me is that I heard in Taiwan there's this type of scam from call centre in China and they are not automated call. These people can actually hacked your landline so you thought you've called the police to report this, you've actually called their call centre!!!

elderly woman in her 90's terrorised by these creeps, pretending she owes a tax bill. Threatened her with immediate arrest and warned her not to tell anyone but to go straight to the bank, draw out thousands then go to post office and pay by western union. I got two calls from Jason O'Connor making threats in regards to the ATO How Dare They I will report it to the ATO

Had a call from Jason 9/9/15 same message as above left on my phone. Well I rang the number back on 10/9/15 and they answered (after they hung up 5 times). Voice sounded like Jason. Male said sorry this is a residence and did not know what I was talking about.

Yes, today September 09, 2015, I too have received a scam phone call from the ATO's Jason O'Connor on (02) 6140 3436 suggesting legal action will be taken against me. I will instead contact the ATO to report this sickening scam. Don't call Jason back!

Received an automated voice call from 'Jason' from the ATO saying that there was as warrant for my arrest because of a tax bill.

I got a call from jason connor claiming to be from ATO. Full of bullsh*t.

We got 3 calls from this number today claiming to be the ATO (Tax office). They claim we are being investigated for tax evasion... etc etc. We rang the real ATO who said they hadn't contacted us & they will forward these details to the real ATO fraud investigators to investigate these SCAMMERS. THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM. DON'T GIVE THESE "PEOPLE" ANY INFORMATION!!!

Got the same message today as everyone else, and also got 3 messages from another number (02) 6152 8659, all claiming to be from either the Tax Office or to do with Tax Evasion,

Exactly the same phone call here this morning. Didn't specify who they were leaving a message for, just that the police would be coming to arrest us (there are 2 tax payers in our household) and take us straight to court. It was a male of Indian sounding decent. Said his name was Jason O'Connor. Also very nicely told us to thank you and have a nice day. Yeah ok buddy, because that's how it works.

Yet another scam call received on 28 August 2015 - male voice, accented (likely asian) - surprised it's still going.

Jason Connor claiming to be from the tax office regarding fraud against the ATO. The call sounds like it's from a call centre somewhere in Asia. My advise is: IGNORE THIS NONSENSE! This person is a serial prankster and a conman!

I came home and had an asian voice saying it was the ATO and they are starting to press charges against me on behalf of ATO and the police would be around soon to contact us, they left this phone number and name jason oconner. I could not resist but to ring back and it is a total SCAM. 30 minuntes later and a second message leaving same number to ring back I will be reporting them to the police I think

Just received a message on my machine from a man (couldn't make out the accent) calling himself Jason O'Connor, from the Tax Office. He said there is a lawsuit against me for tax evasion and I best call (02) 6140 3436 before a police officer arrests me. I called the ATO switchboard and it was confirmed to be a scam. Good grief these messages are disturbing.
