Oh my God... Just got the same call.. Thank god for Google these days. Some indian chick named "Sandy Watson" from the "Windows Service Centre" told me to turn on my computer so she could show me where my files have been corrupted (which mind you, my laptop was already on so if she actually knew so much about my windows she should have known that). I proceeded to tell her I had lent my laptop to a family member who didn't live with me to try and get some more info out of her as to what she wanted. She told me to get them to call her straight away on (02) 6100 4030 so she could fix the computer.. I told her nothing was wrong with it and what sort of computer did I have?... funny she couldn't tell me that either. I asked her how she got my number and she claimed through a tracking device thingie.. so I said well where am I living then... she tells me some address that NO was not mine and she didn't have my name.. Silly bitch, seriously now days you can actually google my number and my name and address comes up so technically anyone can find that out but she obviously wasn't smart enough to which proved how much of a scam it all was.. that was enough for me.. I then said bye and hung up. I checked Microsoft site which does state info on this scam so PLEASE PLEASE EVERYONE DON'T BE SILLY AND DO ANYTHING WITH YOUR COMPUTER THAT THIS MOB ASKED YOU TO DO.. If they hack into your computer via remote they potentially will be able to hack into any accounts you have saved your password to or view any of your personal stuff on your computer including photos and files coz they have FULL control of your computer if you allow them to connect!!! Hopefully something will be done about these idiots really soon!!

Answered a call from (02) 6100 4030 just a while ago. Wanted me to download a virus fix for severely infected computer. Told him I wasn't interested and he said "what's your problem ma'am". I replied "you are" and politely hung up. This was about the 4th time I have received this type of call. One one occasion the caller id on my phone stated it was an Overseas Number... strange.

They sucked me in to letting them take over the computer and I only realised it was a scam when they finally asked me for money. I am now worried what they did to my macnine when they had control. Can they log back in without me knowing.

Call came from this number. My wife proceeded to ask for name (Maria) gave her phone number as 7346967777 we think. Claimed to be from Log for Help in Sydney. After asking a few questions she hung up. Strange as call rec'd 9pm AEST which would make it 10pm in Sydney. Have had several calls from potential Indian Idiots who think we are stupid. Microsoft do not contact you with problems. Why don't they shrivel up and die for pete's sake. I am totally over these idiots.

Yep, I got the phone call from this number this afternoon - why haven't they been shut down?
How dumb do they think we are?
Why would we get a phone call saying it was computer support when we hadn't requested it?
It is so annoying to get these phone calls

The "Windows Service Centre" is still using this phone number for scam calls from Indians. You would think by now the police would have done something about it.

"Ditto" to all the above. I asked 'Nancy Smith' to ring me back tomorrow as I was too busy now. I then phoned my computer man who told me it was a scam and not to give her any information whatsoever as these people are actually scamming money from accounts via the computer once they get in 'with our help' !!

I received a call from Lucy (Indian accent) - Windows Service Centre, advising me that they have received notification on their servers that I have malicious data on my system affecting yhrit servers. When questioned where they got my home number from in relation the Windows program I was passed onto Matt (Senior Supervisor / Indian)who also played the same speech and said they got it from the purchase details - I know 100% that this is bullsh*t. They wanted me to enter the RUN location and enter certain details so as to show me where and what the problems are! Asked if they had a contact number - (02) 6100 4030 was the one provided. I rang off and then tried to find number through various sources before ReverseAustralia and viewing similar info. Will not be calling back!!

We had a call from the number (02) 6100 4030 on Wednesday 21/9/11 claiming to be the Control Centre of Windows and her name was Anne Williams. lucky my mother told her that daughter handled all computer things and we would ring back. she said the number was a 24/7 number. I rang 1 day later and it was answered by an answer machine saying no-one available to take call, and to leave a message. same again, heavy indian accent.

I had a call from this "company" last night, they claimed to be from "Log for Help" (I asked her to spell it, her heavy Indian-ish accent was difficult to understand) and said they were from Windows Technical Department and had got my name when I had purchased my computer. They wanted me to switch on my computer because it had "infections". I did not and told them directly that I would not switch on my computer as I'd never heard of them. I asked her for her phone number which she did not know and passed me to her supervisor (also Indian sounding, but claiming the name SETH DAVIS) who gave me a phone number and said he was in Sydney. I argued the point with him for a good 10 minutes about the validity of the company and my not trusting someone who phoned up and stating it would be stupid to just blindly trust who they said they were. He thanked me for my time and hung up. I have checked the yellow pages, and white pages, and online search, as far as I can establish this 'company' does not exist.
