Called this afternoon. Decided not to answer, but now think after reading all the posts that it maybe time to start playing games with them. Instead of thinking that they are wasting your time turn it back on them and have some fun by wasting their time and money. I have a perverse sense of humour when it comes to things like this. If more people try to have fun at their expense they may end up making less calls.

They rang at 7pm. No reply when I picked up the phone.

If the number shows on your CID don't bother to pick it up, it's a scam. These other numbers are shown on my phone as from overseas also: 1234567890, 18774667164, 9927773456. I have spoken to the person on the 1877 number, Indian and saying that I have a virus... The other numbers are also suss, don't bother answering, let it ring out. Write these numbers down and leave next to your phone so that you can check against the CID. Take extreme care on all fraud.

So sick of these dumb bastards and their scam computer calls. Why should I have to screen my calls. They should be shut down.

quiet, soft Asian female voice; addressed me by title (Mr) and surname with an unstated question mark. I played dumb; got no answer and I hung up.

Rings but is always a dial tone when you pick up.

They rang me tonight and claimed to be from Microsoft and told me there was a problem with my computer. The accent was very hard to understand. Certainly Asian. Possibly Filipino. Went on with a speel for about a minute. I twigged and told the man I never had a computer. He told me I was wasting his time and hung up on me.

We are on Do Not Call register but seem to get sooo many of these scammers. Like to string them along then they hang up. Told the woman today I knew she was a scammer and not too call again. Whistle idea is a good one!! lol

Computer support scam

Scammer claiming to be from Windows, this is a telephone number I have not come across before Phone ID usually shows "overseas call" Told the female I knew she was a scammer and she hung up

They call nearly everyday saying my computer is sending out some virus. It takes them about 10 secs to actually say something once you answer the phone. The calls are driving me crazy!

They have rung a few times this week, I knew by the number it was bogus. So today I answered playing dumb and strung the guy along for 5 minutes...in the end when he twigged that I was not for real, he actually said "I will f*ck you very badly a**hole"
Now I'd like to know where to report this to.

We don't even have an 09 prefix in AU anymore. Didn't even answer this number.

Sick of these pests. Not answering this number any more or withheld. It's always the same idiots on the other end of the line.

Scam - hang up! persistent and annoying little idiots

I have received several calls from this number purporting to be windows On the last occasion I accused the caller as being a hoaxer and she insisted on arguing with me that it wasn't. I am disappointed that this person also asked for me by name. Isn't there something that can be done about these most annoying calls.

This person is sick! They start off by gargling water. Will have a loud wistle by the phone incase they ring again.
