no they are not LEGIT...the Consumer Affairs have been doing some research against them..and even though it says PANTHERA FINANCE DEBT RECOVERY is not the real deal...they have multiple agencies connected to this one but PANTHERA is not LEGIT...we are referring this case to the authorities too...cause once they get your name/phone no..they dont care if you owe anything or not...they will keep on coming...why dont all of us join together and take them on LEGALLY AND OFFICIALLY IN COURT....all talk about it over here is not going to do anything unless ACTION is being taken...count on me straight ahead...cause they are trying to get from me over two hundred thousand dollars...I've ignored them and they've sent me countless legal letters threatening legal action...it has been more than three years and even more...therefore over here in Melb...whatever they do is not legal...it was on September 2013...now is 2017....over one year and more...no acknowledgement from my side too...
anyone thinking in legal action against them...we do have over one hundred and fifty people taking on them and it has been already in tv's news...so take charge...

it has been more than and over one hundred and fifty complaints against them...

they wont leave you alone with phone calls, threatening letters....my friend has been receiving DEad PHONE CALLS asking her to ring (07) 3535 9040 and when he rings automatically he owes more than it is. in this bank..he goes to pick up the records...believing in what these scumbags say and finds out that this bank not only has any records of his he just cant remember when was the last time he had any account in there...previously he has been sent some accounts that Panthera claims about it and again he has never had anything to do with them..but the phone calls kept on coming and harrassment and hassling calls and then threatening my friend that they were going to court...or whatever...he found out that the lawyer is nothing but a fraud.

Can we get rid of these

If Panthera Finance/State Mercantile choose to purchase outstanding debts from creditors at minimal cost then CONGRATULATIONS to them, well done. If they can't recover the monies then tough sh*t for them that's business. Just ignore them they are just very rich low life scumbag BOTTOM FEEDERS.

YES...so how is it in Melb? they reckonned that the debt started in 2012...by now should be finalised cause it is only for three years...over here in Melb...in somewhere is five years..and in Melb..is three years alongside ACT...right? No debt has been incurred but Panthera's has been on my backside and now they decided to take on me through Legal action...but I aint scared...cause they have nothing on me...but just for the record wanted to know if there was something akin to this...wouldnt it be only for three years?
thanks Filomena

I am dealing with them for the past five years...out of the blues I received demands to pay up to forty and now sixty two thousand dollars owed to them via Commonwealth and that Commonwealth bank had sold my debts and then they had this fraudulent paperwork with my signature in them...I asked both the Commonwealth bank to issue me with the relevant paperwork of my debt and they said that the Panthera has them...since it was not working now they are threatening me with legal action over something that I had nothing to do with it...moreover if I had a debt with Commonwealth Bank the contract is between the two of us.....and if the debt incurred in 2012..by now is over three years...and all debt cannot be reinforced..can anyone let me know my rights? Lastly but not the least they the Panthera's sent me last year two bills for the Origins Electricity and Gas bills which I had nothing to do with them...Contacted Lumo Energies and they in turn confirmed that I have had nothing to do with the Origins... but the letters of demand kept on coming..now let me know if there was debt even incurred in 2013 over here in Melb...Vic...after three years it is not enforceable so how now it becomes a legal one and more so if they do not have any records against me only one piece of paperwork with my faked signature on them...can anyone let me know about my rights and if this IS STILL ENFORCEABLE?

Panthera Finance claiming to be contacting me regarding an Optus account. I spoke to Optus directly and they confirmed Panthera Finance is a scam. Don't speak to these people.

I received a call from Panthera apparently my mobile number is listed on their file as my husbands
Seeing as my husband doesnt have a mobile and I only got my mobile and number 5 years ago i'm curious
to know how they got my number. She wanted to know my current address, I refused to give it to her.
She wouldnt tell me why she was calling. I gave her my husbands Bankruptcy number and she still demanded
she speak with him. She said they sent a letter to an address we last lived at in 2003, I know we had no debts from
then. It appeared to me she was after information from me for a debt that doesnt exist. I still want to know how they
obtained my mobile number and what file they are talking about.

I lived in Melbourne in 2011 (6 Years ago) and according to the bottom feeders (Panthera) I incurred and failed to pay an electricity bill of $358.00 (there bill to me) which means the real bill would be about half of that.......... My request to the BF was give me a copy of the invoice from the electricity company so I can verify that this was the case, because when we moved from our residence in Melbourne to take up a job with BHP at Olympic Dam in S.A. we left before our lease was up and we really had to cross our T's and dot our i's with the leasing agency to cover our bond repayment.. this was done without any fuss.
The fist indication that there was a problem was when the BF's contacted me 5 1/2 years later and demanded repayment as per above. Since the first contact there has been approx 1-2 calls every week, so the ploy is to wear you down until you give up(this has been going on for almost a year now)
I usually demand a copy of the original invoice, this I'm sure will never happen.
the following is a solicitors comment on my rights, they have to send me a copy of the original invoice to comply with the law.

solicitors comments

If you doing then you have a right to contact them and ask for the account. If they refuse to give it to you then you can take them to the Electricity ombudsman.

https://www.ewov.com.au

You have a right to see the account and confirm that you do owe the money.

If you had passed on your details to the company they should have sent the bill to you. If not then you cannot accuse them of not complying.

But you have a right to see the account and verify that you dot owe the money before you can decide on how you deal with it.

You can also complain about the debt recovery agent to the ACCC

0431 167 821 Important message for **** please contact TAFE on 1300 722 974. And quote the reference no. *****. Missed Call Service is free.Call 159 to opt out"

Law states that a debt collection agency can not use misrepresentation or deception and can not pretend to be someone else in order to collect the debt. Case in point I was contacted by a person claiming to be a new tenant in a previous address I had resided in and that he had a package delivered from overseas addressed to me and that he was hoping I could give him my new address so that he could send it through. Being silly I gave him my new address. The next day there was a letter under my front door delivered by hand by him and it turns out he was an independent debt collector trying to collect a debt that shouldn't have existed (previous address where the landlord had stated no issues on vacancy and then subsiquently claimed $10'000 without notifying me and I hadn't lived at that address for over 3 years). A quick call to the debt collector reminding them that deception and misrepresentation was illegal and I would be well within my rights to sue resulted in all calls over the alleged debt stopping and no contact since.

These companies purchase debt. Ive ended one session of endless calls simply by saying i believe its illegal to purchase a debt i believe that is the definition of slavery. They sent the alleged debt back to the original company lol by the way it was telstra and i recieved a bill that was dated and in my persons name prior to my ever living in that real estate you stealing asswipes. Now have these guys harrasing again over a six hundred odd dollar debt bet the company whim sold it didn't tell them they owe me $500 after they refused to credit upon bill but kept the $$$$ under the excuse that they changed company names so cannot credit. Scumbags i aint paying unless you won't the equilivalnt of $600 of food in a paperbag after its been through my digestive track.
