Who do I complain to about Panthera? Is it Telecommunications Ombudsman or Banking/Financial Ombudsman? They keep calling and texting me about alleged $1000+ bill with Ergon, despite me never being a customer of that energy company. They are basically engaging in ext0rtion. A few years ago, they harassed me about a Telstra debt, despite me never ever being a customer of that telco.

These guys are really bastards. Out of the blues they've come up with the more outrageous threats and things thatt never happened....we have found out about the people who owned them money but we never bothered to contact Panthera because we thought that there was not needed. But they came over and over again each time it was something else...it was phone calls, that rang throughout the week, calling personally, with threats, menaces, trying to break into people's house and annoying everybody to the point trying to get information and private ones from the others ...the last time i have heard and am putting on notice over here was that an agent of the mercantile state was hovering in someones house. Those people moved out and the daughter is now living in Sydney or Sout Australia with a very much famous personality and they tried all avenues to get the private addresses and telephone numbers, mobiles and if not their letters of aggression, emails, offensive stuff keep on turning. PLEASE BE AWARE OF IT ALL...PANTHERA FINANCE AND MERCANTILE STATE ARE NOTHING BUT FRAUDSTERS AND HOAXES. who take advantage of innocent people who has never done as borrowing one dollar from them. And in the cities where we live, even if you had a debt after five or six years it would be ineffective but rather than that there is nothing for them to collect. We will call the police and go to Today Tonight on Channel 9 and public against these bastards and to tell the truth. Please stand up against these tyrants, sadistic bastards who sees money and invents liabilies...they are only FRAUDs and thieves.

No one did. Even being told that no one owns them money or made no loans, borrowed anything from them, these sons of a bitches kept on harrassing, plaguing, threatening, turning up at a friends' house where they spitefully drove my friend to death. The lady had cancer and the Panthera's goons turned up at her place and one guy from mercantile pushed hard the door to open it...but the lady called the police and even though they have had problems with police, the police were kept on being called, but these bastards drove the lady to her death as her cancer spirralled out of control and she died...now her son and daughter are thinking in sueing these two bastards and the panthera finance for fifty million dollars' compensation. They dont learn...they keep on doing things to innocent people.

I think this is a scam and I recommend no one answer this number or speak to them. I got a text message to my old phone that doesn't even have a number anymore, addressed to a random name, saying my account with Dodo for $2800 is owing, and giving a link to pay. I've never had an account with Dodo. I definitely won't be clicking that link.

I am copy and pasting a prior comment as it's very important, if it isn't a scam. After 6 years the debt is no longer valid for debt collection and you don't need to pay it. However if you answer or speak to them, the 6 year period restarts. See below. I'd recommend getting financial and / or legal advice before making any contact with this company.

What people dont know and we should do our research? Why dont you go and jump on the lake..we dont have to pay a dime...we owe the Panthera and the Mercantile nothing...they chose our names at random..such as if your name is John Smith then all the Smiths are in the same roll. People ring to let them know that they have nothing to do with them, and they tell them to give them their private information which they do and the next thing they start with phone calls, harrassment, stalking...etc...so stop taking their side and we dont have anything to feel bad about...go jump into the lake...

Caller: Panthera with the 1300 722 974.

It was an Indian speaking harrassing my family and instructing my son to pay and how. He told my son that i was in Queensland and went to their office to borrow money and plenty of it and that in good faith they loaned me straight on. Then two weeks later they ring again and tells my son that i owed them money for the debt i have incurred in Commonwealth Bank - lots of it...up to ninety thousand dollars. Then i was at work when my son who is staying with both of my eldery pensioners parents opens the door to this tall blonde guy wearing glasses who tells him that he is from Toll but the neighbours call the police as he starts threatening my young son. The following day they rang three of four times my mobile number and said that i have applied the loan with the present number...which was a new one that i changed and the number that they had which was meant to be mine had nothing to do with me whatsoever. Then they kept harrassing my parents and if not my young son...So my son goes and stays with his cousins, and still they find him in our cousins address and go there threatening the family, showing up in the morning, afternoon and sometimes evenings...my cousin was forced to sell the house and moved then we moved out of our rented house...but they kept on following us tracking us down...sending eerie emails to people that we dont know about only because we share the same surname. The thing is where and how they can fake people's documents..and their signatures.Panthera get on with it and leave all of us...if we take you to the court we are counting the millions of dollars that we can sue you. Go to hell and cant wait to see the demise of all of you, c*nts, pricks...we are now making do with the majority and we will sue you.

Some internet company installed internet it never worked for months so we sent there modem back with the return there equipment prepaid satchel and went with vividwireless now years later these scum bags call for a $160 debt haha no way we are giving them or anyone 1 cent for something we never used and returned there equipment.

These guys have women dying of cancer, keep on ringing sending letters, emails phone calls...even though we have called the police, they have come up with faked documents telling who was there and did what as witnessed .... we HAVE nothing to do with them period...but they keep on ringing and we were told to block them, which we did then they get the postman to deliver debt collections letters and naturally we dont do it. The police have done nothing and innocent people have had so many harrassments coming from them
We have told them countless times that we have never had anything to do with them. It is one name and they keep sending other names..PANTHERA JUST STOPPED or do you want us to go PUBLIC channel 7 and channel 9 would be highly interested on how you guys are bet when they turn up you GOT nothing to tell or say.

I got scammed had to cancel my card. explained to them. They didnt care just wanted their money. So i am going further

They have been calling and sending letters over an Optus debt that was cleared 6 years ago. Optus no help to sort it out. Will just ignore as I know I owe nothing and they will have to prove otherwise if they want a cent

I can also add that legally when someone or a business entity want to raise a debt against you, they bear the burden/onus of proving the debt exists against 'you' and 'quantum'. I did not have to repay an alleged overpayment by nasty employer of $10,000.00 because there record keeping was so poor they could not accurately provide the exact amount/quantum of any alleged debt. They tried to have me prove I did not owe the money but I held firm and said that was not my responsibility.
Also the law does not permit debt collectors to harass, call outside of certain hours, contact family or employer, make threats of legal nature or other misleading and intimidating remarks. Finally they cannot continue to recover a debt if you clearly inform them you are in financial hardship and unable to pay, if they do so it is harassment eg say hardship and instruct them to contact you in 6 months or when you anticipate circumstances will change. If they continue to behave poorly then contact your Ombudsman and they can advocate on your behalf. Tip: the law considers Centrelink benefits as an income presumed to effect hardship therefore is not enforceable regarding most debts (some exceptions like banks and tax). Another point is that if you cannot service a debt perhaps consider whether it was usurious (unethical or unconscionable for the lender to enter such an agreement) and you may find that you do not have to repay the debt at all in such circumstances, you will need legal advice but this can be accessed via several free avenues in all Australian states/territories. Panthera are not a nice company in my personal experience plus they did not present well with regards to Robodebt activity. Always be informed and get help when dealing with those who hold power.

I literally don't have any debts as I can't make any loans on my type of visa.

These companies also buy debts that have been paid! its happened to me I was so harassed and terrorized I had to get the proof from the company they bought the debt off so dont go telling people to pay the bills as its not so cut and dried

this one is easy pal, call TIO, tell them what optus did and make them sort it out for you, also report panthera as harrasing calls to your current phone company if this is still ongoing. they will call panthera with a cease and desist

you should probably check your facts around call centre privacy laws, giving the company is not breaking the law, your are required by law to give your first name, where you calling frm and and why, if in doubt, please feel free to check with TIO

onus is on the company to prove your the correct person they are looking for.

When did these two morons born? 08 may 1981? They are always making life miserable and difficult to people and fining them is nothing... They just got themselves a thirty million business deal by selling their busines to someone else... If they dont harrass one person they on in search and leave messages to different people's and name them the businesses that were never there. Please get some justice. Against them.

This company has even contacted my daughter’s phone (she is 12 and I never gave them her name or number)!!
