Had an SMS supposedly from Milton Graham saying I owed money to Linet Ltd. Checked Milton Graham contact no it is not the one in the text, the link in the message is not from Milton Graham. Scam be careful people

1300 965 187 keeps sending SMS that money is owed to Dodo Service. Never used them, so suspicious right away, then checked online and see many similar stories but different companies mentioned. Don't fall for it.

Tried to tell me I had an outstanding debt of $1403.25 with Milton Graham previously known as Dun & Bradstreet, never heard of any of them let alone have a debt anywhere except the usual cost of living, electrickery, phone etc. The message provided a link to a page where you could pay the supposed debt as well as a phone number asking to quote the reference number 29783387, so I did, just for the hell of it. As I know I absolutely and positively owe no money anywhere for over 10 years, I rang the number which has an automated response which asks you to enter your birthdate, haha, typed in 01012010, twice it asked for a valid date before it gave in and put me through to an Agent who identified Cygno Pty Ltd and her name then asked me for the reference number, she then asked for my name and I told her that as she had the reference number she should already know my name, she stated it was for security purposes and I told her that that was why I needed her to tell me what my name was, she then tried to say that I had a debt which was when I told her loudly that that was not possible and that I was very angry about them trying to scam me and I would be reporting them to the ACCC, she then hung up so I have blocked the numbers. Enough said. SCAMMERS.

I've never had anything to to with Car Next Door 🤣🤣

Said I have $837 debt from CIGNO AUSTRALIA. and texted me million times that I had preapproved payment

Received an SMS advising I had a debt (which I don't) and to call this number. To clarify, Milton Graham are a real debt collection agency and advise on their website that they do send SMS alerts advising to contact multiple 1300 numbers.

If you're receiving a random SMS asking for money for a service you've never used, it's likely someone who had your number before you and/or lied about their contact number has an actual debt.

Milton Graham are certainly far from an ethical company and debt collection agencies are known for engaging in aggressive recovery tactics which border on harassment sometimes, but it's not a scam as such. They may ask for your name and DOB when they call/you call them back, this is a legal requirement for most businesses and government agencies when discussing confidential information. You are not obliged to provide this information however. Never click on any links just in case.

If it's not your debt, you don't need to do anything, but it may be helpful to tell them upfront that they have the wrong number and ask them to stop calling. It probably won't stop them but if you do nothing they'll just assume you'll pick up one day if they keep annoying you. If they keep calling despite at least more than one warning, consider reporting them to the ACMA.

They keep calling from Sydney (02) 8213 6761 leaving me voicemails and SMS's saying that I have a City West Water debt of $52.10 and to call their number.

Texts and emails commenced about 2 months ago. Have received messages with incorrect fist name, 'Leanne', albeit correct last name. I sent response demanding a stop in messages stating there is "no Leanne here". Now texts don't have a name included. Contacted Aust Clinical Labs who supplied their correct account number which does not appear anywhere in these messages.

I got a text from the number (Milton Graham) not a call saying Hi Brett Andrew MacKenzie.
Your City West Water debt of $208.49 is outstanding. To avoid further escalation, please pay immediately.
Also came with a link to pay, phone number 1300 389 112 and a reference number.
Clearly not even my name so I knew it was a scam straight away. I don't even no who City West Water is.

Looks legit when you get a text from them asking them to pay for a debt via link - it isn't them. Don't click on it, it is a scam

Got 2 texts within minutes from sender name MiltnGraham not from a phone number. each I saying i owe $373.60 for an online loan debt and the other $1430.00 for another online loan debt and if i dont want it to escalate further to pay immediately by clicking link or ringing 1300 389 112 and state reference number provided.
1 problem, i dont have any debt nor loans....

It’s a scam.
Received five messages so far. I have no outstanding debts.

I've been getting these text messages for a couple of months now. I never respond. The message gives a 1300 number and a link. I thought if I really did own someone money they would ring me, not just keep sending threatening texts. The message said I had a $73.79 debit with linet Ltd (never heard of them) and to avoid further escalation I had to pay immediately. They people are SCAMMERS ignore there messages.

I have never used this company and checked the number online to find it’s a scam.

Just received a massage from 0436 453 671 saying $1199 Lumo Energy Pty Ltd debt still outstanding with Milton Graham. I've never got any service from this company. Total scam!!
