so called debt collectors after money i do not owe.

messaged me I had $280.00 debt with Telstra. I have nothing to do with Telstra

Messages saying I owe money to a water company I don't even have an account with, content of messages changes every time (different names, different contact info, different link to make payments).

Call "company" directly on a different phone and asked them if they know I was receiving messages for money owing, they immediately said "no we're not trying to scam you" and told me they had my account open and looking at it I owed a certain amount....i hadn't even given them any personal information to verify who I was (nor did I plan to despite them later asking me to verify who I was). They said they'd been trying to contact me several times (ie. the spam messages)

I asked them if they are sure who I am, please tell me the contact information you have been trying to reach me on. They said "sorry we can't tell you who you are unless you verify you're details to let us know who you are".

I'm just waiting for the Nigerian prince to show up to make this the scammiest of all scams.

They reckon I recently owe $170 to a drinks company for a business I sold six years ago.

Caller: Text Message

Apparently I owed money for Internode. The link in the text message goes direct to a payment page for a debt collector.

Caller: 0436 453 671 - Milton Graham

Debit scam. Multiple phone calls and sms messages from Milton Graham claiming I had a significantly overdue debit of $73.79 with Iinet Ltd (both of whom I’ve never heard of) and potential consequences if I didn’t pay using the link in the sms. It’s a scam, delete and block them!

Said I owed a debt to a utility company that doesn't service my area. Said the debt had been handed over to Milton Graham. Link to "pay", attached.

Caller: “Ferratum Australia”

Sent me 2 messages, one saying I owed $809 and one saying I owed $750.60 with a Milton Graham, that it was significantly overdue and that if I didn’t pay that it would lead to serious consequences

Claims I have debt with Lumo Energy. Have received same msg multiple times.
Reply sms rejects “not sent”

Debt scam, this is a brand new number of mine and they messaged me when no one had my details yet.

Caller: I don’t know

Seems like scam messages.
