Yet another phone beggar from a bogus charity. These annoying scammers should be shut down.

These people rely on their hearing (and their excruciatingly ugly linguistic tricks). So here is how I deal with them: 1) get a very cheap plastic whistle, wait until they start talking and blast away the evil in their ears - they won' sue you for physical damage to their ears because they would have to identify themselves, and then you could counter sue for psychological stress; 2) use a language that is very rare- I use several extinct Indo-European languages, but a friend says Klingon dialects work very well; 3) let these critters know that you, and others, keep records of these numbers and share them so that we have almost a party game of "Guess who bothered me at dinner?" - a friend who teaches internet safety to young children is developing this into a family home-work project (she has got some Greek grannies involved, and the learning and entertainment has been wonderful). In short: do not let a 'goc oen' ruin your life - use the challenges these poor souls of the modern devil provide you with for your amusement, learning opportunities and uniting your family and friends in a useful common purpose against real, modern evilness.

I blocked this number after they hung up in my ear when I answered the phone. I then called the number and reached a recorded message, an Asian voice, saying it was some company that had phoned me on behalf of its "charity partners". Clearly a scam - block the number or don't answer. I am so sick of these pests!

I see this number is up and running again saying thanks for donations to bowel cancer etc etc. How noticeable that these nuisance calls from overseas had stopped during the corona virus pandemic but are now clearly back on the job again!

If these people didn't call everyone they'd save money on their phone bill and wouldn't need charity.

They first ring from an (07) number. Then try again with an (08) number?

Caller: Telemarketers not Charities Most charities these days arent worth a dime. Especially those that pay overseas call centres to call you on their behalf. By the time all these marketers are paid out and all the big wigs and media lickspits get their free overseas trips how much of your donation actually gets to the intended recipient?

On two occasions now I have had a lot of fun with these calls Leading them on saying I am waiting for computer to start, or don't see the screen they are describing etc etc. Eventually telling them I think its a scam. First time I got called a "bloody bugger" how harsh. Just last week he must have taken a training course in verbal abuse. It was quite foul and funny at the same time with his weird accent.

Call centre. Long pause before they say anything then launch into an unintelligible script in a very strong Indian type accent. Have no idea what they were saying. Hung up on them.

I answer the call and let them start their story, then I ask them to hold....and hold...and hold while I cook dinner. I return to the phone every few minutes to tell them I'm still listening, they are still talking and in the end they hang up.
