Caller: Said he was from Telstra

Call showed it was from Darwin and he said he was calling from Telstra about my Internet account. I laughed and asked where he got my number as I am not with Telstra and he go very rude and had a go at me about my attitude!!! He did not like me questioning him seeing as I do not have anything with Telstra. Will be handing this info to Telstra.

( neighbor,s private residential address "MUST" be left "PRIVATE" and "NOT" publicized due to this "COMMENTERS " personal respect for the specific "Family" that ASSUMED" bogus caller > ( (08) 7918 1690 had said their residential home address ( including house number ? street ? postcode ? city + state ? = AUSTRALIA ) . As "YET", have "NOT" approached neighbor for concern ,s of "NOT" wishing to worry / frighten them at all ? This commenter has spoken to a personal ( MATE ) contact that is Police Connected ? As appear,s to be the real scenario , many other "AUSTRALIAN,s" like wise have commented on this number as given ?

Above number has kept leaving number on mobile saying a resident within the local precinct known to locals is leaving their personal residence ? ( southern "Oz" States ? )
This number identifies as either Darwin or elsewhere in "TOP END" ? Knowing Scammers often are from overseas how come local scammers get australian,s numbers unless they have mates in the telco,s that have access to anyone,s mobile ? Landline ? Internet ? Supposed "Silent" phone numbers ? Would our trusted high profile people in communications technology field be "UNDER THE TABLE VILLAINS" perhap,s playing games with Targeted Australians ? As "BIG BROTHER" + his "BIG SISTER" are today,s "ALL SEEING EYE/ S" can anyone with personal private data on
any citizen ( CHILDREN AS WELL ? ) working in areas that give them "PERSONAL" access to all and sundry "BE TREUSTED" ?

Above Number was discovered on a "REMINDER" notice ( Mobile Phone ? ) presumed dated this week ? ( no registered time AEST given ? ) No person connection or message nor anything else except above number shown on mobile ? Accordingly, all roads appear to lead to "Darwin" ( or NT ? ) Too many bogus / scam calls reaching the Australian people sadly ? From all account,s it,s another type of Joker playing stupid games ? Glad to assist other "AUSSIES" by commenting on it as well ?

Same as one of the previous comments - a man identifying himself as a Telstra technical team member saying my internet will be disconnected in a couple of hours because of dodgy traffic from my number. Very vague, no details, no infor that the call will be recorded, etc. I hung up without waiting for more trouble.

Caller: Scam posing as Amazon Prime

Told that a purchase has been made on my account for $1499, do I want to cancel? Told me I have to go to computer and follow his instructions to cancel the purchase. Said he was in Sydney (although call shown as from Darwin). Led him on a bit to waste some of his time (I don't have an Amazon Prime account), got to the point where he asked me to enter join.zoho.in on my computer. Decided that was enough, so gave him a quick lecture about how scamming people is naughty before he got the message and hung up on me. Very rude!

Caller: Scammers Of the Week

Don’t answer this caller. Clearly Telstra does not cold call people. As for Visa they don’t have a fraud department. Perhaps they have fraudsters working for them but they are called Customer Service Agents. Do not answer. Save the number to your phone contact list with uppercase DNA short for do not answer then a brief description of what the caller is DNA Amazing scammers with Telstra then block the number. It will save in your phone call list as DNA and you know that you can then report it to reverse Australia so the scam meter reaches 100%. I never answer numbers I don’t know and always run them through Reverse Aus or simply google. If you want to ring the number back you can block your number by dialling 1831 before the number. Be aware that some companies have an unscrambler to decode hidden numbers. Officeworks is one outfit. #31# also blocks your outgoing number. I love playing games with these idiots. You make up a number last 8 digits on a master or visa credit card and an expiry date and three digit security number and give it to them to pay the fictitious bill. The card won’t go through but you can smile knowing the idiots have tried to extract money from a fraudulent non existing account and left a trace from which the authorities can get evidence to charge these imbeciles with.

This number called & I saw Darwin NT come up & let it ring out, blocked it straight after.
Usually they are scams & looks as though I was correct in my thinking.
They have software on laptops/ desktops that can randomly group 5 country/ state numbers to choose from at press of button & change it every time.
Besides I know no one here
