This is and ATO scam wanting to give me money back. Asked for my banking details / mc/ vc told them I owed money they hung up.

Scam artist!

Said he was from the ATO, but couldn't give my last name. I kept asking him for the last name, he then hung up!!!! SCAMMERS!!!

Caller: ATO

Caller contacted my wife whose English is not good. She forwarded me the number (08) 7200 4603, which I called and an Indian sounding woman answered as ATO. She said she called regarding a tax issue and when I said my wife is not working she apologised and said it was a mistake. Yeah right.

From these people advising me they where from the ato crimes etc when I asked them
Why they were calling he gave me some stupid breif about the call
So as soon as I advised them i will be getting me accountant to investigate the matter they hung up

Other comments about these guys being tax scam artists which explains why they hung up as soon as I said the call and reason for the call will be investigated

Same as all above - asked him what he was wearing and did he support same sex marriage - strangely silent then he hung up - turn it back on them people 😊

Yha, just got the call from them and they were insisting on providing them the card number.
They said it is cumulative tax return
I cross checked for the validation and asked from when the tax amount is from and they said from 2012 to 2017. The best part - I just moved in Australia

Still trying to scan the public by asking for credit card to process tax refund. Don’t even bother answering the call.
Relentless and preying on unsuspecting people.

I received a call from a guy with an indian accent, asking for my bank details so that he could deposit $1,452 in my account. How stupid does he think we are? if there's anything I know it's to not give my bank details to anyone. Seriously get a life!

Indian guy called. Sounded like there were many people talking around him. Said there was a community tax refund of 1.4k that I was entitled to. I don't even pay taxes.
I gave him a fake CC off the top of my head. He asked me to repeat. I asked him to repeat saying I have the card in front of me and will confirm.
He got a bit upset saying the CC details were wrong. I told him I need to take a sh*t.
He got violent and said I would be arrested. Who falls for this sh*t?

this number called a couple days in a row until I answered. could barely understand what the person with an accent was saying. they were rambling on and I said firmly - WHO ARE YOU? WHERE ARE YOU CALLING FROM? and they hung up...definitely a scam!!!

That jerk was saying that he wants to refund and when I said ok he asked me to provide card details. When I said are you spamming in the name of ATO he just hung up.

I just got a call from (08) 7200 7074 telling me that I have got money as tax returns and asked my card number and the bank. My feeling warned me instantly. I asked him to call me later and he insisted me to pick up the phone when he rang. I soon checked the number oh God... Thanks to everybody who put the complaint.

He said if I didn’t pay 1200 by tomorrow in itunes cards he would arrest me

Recieved a call from this guy trying to put up aussie accent, said his name was Ray Hamilton, called from (08) 7200 7074, said I had a tax refund for some $1056, wanted me to give him my Mastercard number so that he can transfer the funds.

Definitely a scam. I told him I worked in the taxation office and asked which team he works. He told me he's from the tax refund team.... I went, think of a better name, okay!? This number will definitely gone into further investigations.
