Same as all the comments above. The ATO and I am going to be arrested to boot. Can't wait for that. Complete waste of time. I am so over these infuriating scams

I have got a call from "Australian Tax Office". Did not answer, they left a message.

Shock and awe robotic voice tactics: your TFN is suspended, ALL your bank accounts as well, court order with your name on it is issued, arrest of ALL your assets and your poor self is imminent (sh#t....). Just press 1 to avoid all that pandemoium. (thanks for that a###hols)

They don't call from Australia. Their number is blocked and changed so the police can do nothing.

Caller: ATO and Centrelink mentioned

Definitely a scam - automated message advising ATO, Centrelink, bank account will be suspended, arrest warrant will be issued. For further details press 1. When you don't press 1 'for further details' the phone call is disconnected.

Caller: Scammer

Robotic voice telling me they were from the National Security Agency and my TFN and Bank account are being frozen because they have been found to be connected to fraudulent activity. And there is an arrest warrant out for me. Push 1 to get more information.

Scammer re tax department

Same as above. Also had mobile number earlier in the day with same message - Services Australia press 1 to find out about your case.

A call from a Perth number (on a public holiday in Perth!!). robot voice saying that i had a tax case against me and that i was going to be arrested and should press 1 to find out about the case. what is interesting is that this call came straight after a call from someone scamming using NBN as the introduction....

Robot like voice threatened to be arrested due to something to do with ato. About time something was done about these calls

Robo call - didn't listen any further

Nobody from WA would be calling me so didn't answer. After seeing these comments I'm glad I didn't. BLOCKED! Somebody should do something about these arseholes.

SCAM. Called did not speak. I have blocked the number.

Message supposedly from Services Australia, claiming to be about tax and court proceedings. Clearly a scam. Initially recorded voice, but I held on in the effort to waste their time, and they told me if I didn't trust the call not to answer next time!!!

Robotic voice claiming to be from the Tax Office and stating that there is an arrest warrant out for me, and push '1' to talk to someone about it

What do the scammer get out ringing a consumer and telling him/her about this scam about the ATO? As the responders have said, when they ask questions, the scammers put down the phone. So what’s the point?
