I have been receiving emails from a fake law firm saying I need to contact them to secure my company name trademark. I have had 3 emails in a week, trying to escalate the urgency. This number is the one they tell me to ring.

They send us this message Dear ABC,
I hope you're doing well.
We are writing regarding the trademark protection of "ABC". We’ve been approached by another party looking to register this trademark. However, our research confirms that you have a stronger claim due to longer usage of the name.
Your Options:
• Proceed now – We can file the trademark on your behalf through IP Australia, ensuring you secure exclusive rights.
• Decline to proceed – If you opt not to act, we will have to process the other party’s application, which could lead to potential legal and financial challenges for your business.
If the other party secures the trademark, they will gain exclusive rights to the name, and you may no longer be able to use it freely. Under the Australian Trade Marks Act 1995, this could lead to:

I have been receiving emails from a fake trade mark firms, please see above email content saying I need to contact them "urgently" to secure the trademark for our company name as they have a new company requesting to file a trade mark for our company name. This number is supplied with the emails. Beware.

Received an email.. after looking up the telephone number It came up with all the other scam posts.. Thank you!
The company name being used is Mark Defender - 15 Austin St, Adelaide SA.

I’m reaching out regarding an urgent matter concerning the trademark for ... Another party has approached us to file for this trademark, but our research shows they are a new startup and have been using the name for only a short period.
In contrast, you have a proven history of using this name, which strengthens your claim. As per our company policy, we are offering you the first opportunity to file for the trademark before proceeding with the other party’s request.

Email Trademark scammer ignore!

We have had 2 emails from tony @ nexmarksipau.com regarding a "critical trademark matter". Our business names are registered in Queensland, so scam suspected. Confirmed here with phone number (08) 6118 3206.

Just received my second email. First email said their client is trying to register and trademark our business name but we have first right of refusal or we can register through him. Second email says if we don't respond they will go ahead and register with their client who can then sue us or legally prohibit us from using the name. I've reported to Scamwatch and leaving this here. I have also contacted IPAustralia.gov.au. Their website has a pop up saying there's a spate of these IP related scams at the moment.

They're now using real Lawyer's names to perpetuate the scam.
The real lawyer that they are using at the moment has posted on LinkedIn that he has nothing to do with this scammy company.

FAKE SCAM

Classic trademark infringement scam. They try to tell you that out of good faith they are letting you know that someone is trying to trademark your company name and they can stop it - bless their little scummy hearts. This is an absolute scam - no law firm would actually do this - it's just fear mongering to get you to stop them with their imaginary trademark infringement. There is already an excellent process through IP Australia, so just delete the email and certainly don't ring or answer this number.

Receiving scam emails (example below)... however when you go to their website however, it clearly says that;
'Our organization is not a licensed legal provider, and any information or advice provided by our consultants should not be interpreted as being legally binding'
and 'Please note that we are not a law firm, and any advice provided by our consultants should not be used as legal advice.'
and 'If you are interested in obtaining legal advice, you should consult with a lawyer.'

Further to our previous correspondence regarding the
trademark [business name]. we write to you as a FINAL
NOTICE.
As previously advised, we have been approached by
another party seeking to register this name as a trademark. Based on our
preliminary assessment, you may have a stronger claim due to your prior and
continuous use of the name.
To protect your position, you may:
1. Instruct us to proceed with filing a
trademark application

We can lodge an application on your behalf with IP Australia
to formally secure your legal rights and brand protection.
2. Confirm that you do not wish to proceed

If we do not receive your written instructions within a reasonable timeframe,
we will proceed in accordance with our professional obligations and act on the
other party’s instructions.

Emails associated with this number now using the name Ben Lee with emails lee @ primemarkau.com or ben @ primemarkau.com and same scam saying someone is trying to register a trademark with my product name.

Scam. All fake. Sent them this link and never heard back.

Also going under Ben @ ipcoreau.com - Trademark theft of a very unique business name - sure.... idiots.... IP Core AU

Several emails from a Ben Hamilton saying I need to secure my trademark and if I don't within 24 hours, they will register it for someone else. I called the number, the same person posed as both the front desk operator and Ben Hamilton. Were very abusive when called out.
