The caller claims to be collecting on behalf of the Rural Fire Service. But our local rates notice includes a levy for Rural Fire Service so it smells like a scam to me.

WARNING TO ALL: DO NOT RESPOND. IT IS NOT LEGIT!!!
He claims to be collecting for the Rural Fire Brigade on his own. He is a LONG TIME SCAMMER with various names, a scammer who also rips thousands of people for selling cheap shipping containers.
I want to meet this clown in a dark Alley, he is owed a few "reciepts"

The have a bought list of number for fundraising. They call about once a year for fundraising.

I don't answer unknown numbers. I'm in VIC getting a call from QLD, very sus since I don't have any contacts in that state. They didn't leave a message so it can't be important.

No one said anything when I answered and said hello so I hung up and blocked the number

Caller: No one spoke

If you buy tickets off mater lotteries they “sell” your info to places like this. Mater is the scam

No message = now blocked

Try leaving a message as a courtesy so people know who you are!

We haven’t lived in QLD for 11 years so if they’re legit they’re working off of old information. No message was left, the call doesn’t connect even i wanted to return the call

No idea how you got my number but I wouldn’t ever donate from a phone call anyway. Who falls for that stuff?

Called me, I did google and seems legit but im from WA>

Said theyre not meant to call people interstate, said my number was registered in QLD in the past but ive owned it for 25 years! So no idea how they get numbers for the calls.

Seems like a legit service tho.
