They call you because you've filled in their screener to complete a market research focus group or something similar. It is not a nuisance caller - you have already given them your details.

I can confirm it is Q&A Research and they do call for focus groups. If you go to one you are paid for it as I was. $80 for 2 hours in a group with 6 others. They will normally call to see if you are available then call again to confirm you are still coming if you have said you would.

Just had a call from this number. Telemarketing I think. Wanted to know if I wanted to go to a meeting in Melbourne about services on Virgin Airlines ( of which I am a member ) I would receive $80 cash if I went and a further $80 if I took part in a survey on the night.

This Brisbane number just called me on a Sunday morning. I declined to answer it and glad I did, as I cannot stand market research calls.
