Caller: Kevin from Accident Somethingarather..

I introduced myself quite clearly, then Kevo popped the question and asked if I'd been in an accident in the last few years or if i know a friend or family member thats been in an accident or something to that effect. Said that I have the right to my compensation money if I can confirm I've been in an accident. I asked him to confirm who was listed on his report to have the accident but 'due to technical issues' he did not have access to that information. I said to 24-Kevin, "I just want my compo money."
I asked the Kevinator where his office is in which he did give me an office address based in Brisbane. I asked if I could come visit him in 'Brisbane' to talk about this personally instead which he replied 'No worries!'. If only I had noted as I am sure that Kevvy-Wevvy would have been keen for a bevvy next time I visit Brisbane. I asked if he could send me a letter about this, to which he replied 'No Worries!'
I asked if he could tell me my name or the name of my workplace he had called but 'due to technical issues' he could not tell me. I explained that it wasn't a technical issue that he could not tell me my name, it was a hearing problem because I clearly stated my name at the start of the call.
Come on Kev-Kev, thats just basic customer service! At least remember my name from the start of the call if you're going to claim you're going to help me. Good luck with the next phone call Kevin. You'll have to work hard to recover that 12 minutes of your day just as I will. Much love, from Bevin.

It rang and I didn't answer - did not leave a message so presume it is another scammer trying it on.

Caller: Scam - claiming accident claim.

Claimed to be accident clams to pay out money, I said it wasn’t me and they continued. When I ask for them to identify the location of the accident they said they couldn’t due to computer error.

Rang my mobile on Monday. My Samsung Galaxy identified it as a possible fraud so I blocked this number. Got 2 more calls today from same number but it had 061 in front without 07 in brackets. As this number was unusual I ignored it first time. After the 2nd call I blocked it.

I didn’t answer as I suspected it was a cold call. I’ll answer next time just to tie them up on the phone so they don’t get onto someone else who may actually give them money!

This is a disgraceful scam! I had the same call 2 days earlier while I was on holiday in Thailand but didn’t want to pay international charges and hung up pretty quick - so I knew exactly what he was going to say when he said he was from Accident “something or other” and wanted to make a point to him. I started to say, you have already called me about this but he assured me his company had not called me and he was calling because I had informed them of a car accident that I was in sometime during the last 2 years which was not my fault. I asked him which date the accident occurred and he said his documents did not list a specific date, he only knows that the driver at fault has already reached their max amount of claims so his insurer will not pay out his cover and his agency assists people like me in this situation to get the money owed to them. Still no mention of compo so I played along a bit more and told him, Oh, that’s ok, my insurance policy is comprehensive so they pay for all repairs to my car and I don’t need to get involved at all with getting money from their insurer. He then says but you are still owed money and I said what do you mean, are you from my insurance... he then says he works for a lawyer, I ask what the lawyers name is, he says there are multiple, and I say, So what are you calling for and why don’t I know about my own affairs that lawyers are involved with so he has to admit in very careful language that he’s basically trying an ambulance chasing scam... I then told him part of the truth - that I haven’t had an accident and that I am angry with his dishonesty - l asked how and where he got my name and phone number and suddenly the accident may have been had by another member in my home with a similar name. I then let it rip with the full truth telling him he is a scammer and liar because I do not have a car let alone a licence because I have been in a wheel chair since the age of 12 when I was seriously injured in a REAL car accident. He was apologetic, but still insisting it’s not a scam and it must relate to another member of the household and so I let him know that I live alone and that he should be ashamed of himself for trying to scam people who have had the misfortune of experiencing a car accident and / or being injured in a way that warrants compensation! I kept on a bit about his horrid behaviour and the shame he should feel... He actually listened without interruption, but the moment I paused he said rather sadly, I am very sorry, thank you Madam, before hanging up!

I answered the call for sh*ts and giggles to be honest as I’d ignored a call (and blocked the number) yesterday. The lady with what seemed to be an Indian accent asked me about an accident that I had been in. I said I hadn’t ever had an accident. She said perhaps it was a family member. I said no family members had been in an accident. She continued on about my accident even though I said over and over again that I hadn’t been in an accident. I said to her that this was a scam call and she said “how can it be a scam call Ma’am, I haven’t asked you for any money!” I told her if I was complicit, she would probably ask for my banking details to provide me with my “compensation”. She then asked what complicit meant so I told her that I only answered the phone because I felt like messing with someone and to remove my details from their scam database. She was very unhappy with me and told me that I was making a simple situation very difficult. I then told her I was on the do not call register and she promptly hung up. Bloody scammers!!!

They asked if they could speak to Joanne, I said Joan and he said hi Joanne grrrrr!!! right there. Then he got right to it and told me I had an accident 2 years ago, I said no I didn't. He said yes and I said no I had one 10 years ago. He then said you have had other accidents and I said no I haven't , he kept saying you have had a little accident I then told him that if someone wants them they will ring so stop calling people. Pains in the butt!!!!! Really sick of idiots ringing even after we have blocked the numbers

Two calls from this number over 2 days. I chose not to answer it because I assumed it would be a scam. Checked reverse number and this clearly confirmed it to be a scam.

Add me to the list. I didn't answer them and they didn't leave a message. Just a tip, let the calls ring out - don't hit the red x. I did for another number (probably from the same scammers) and they rang back straight away. Why don't they put their energies into earning a legitimate living, rather than scamming those that already do?

He called but hung up on me when I introduced myself. Not cool Kev, I was hoping you'd call back so we can book that coffee date in and discuss my compo money.
