A male rang me when I was out and he left a message saying "Is that Mr Moors?". I have no idea who that is.
I reported it on my landline to Telstra as a nuisance call as I've had calls from the number a few times now.

Thanks to Reverse Australia I didn't answer this caller. My modus operandi now is to write down the number that's calling but not answer it. Then check Reverse Australia.
If I don't find it here I wait for it to call again - if it's important they will.
If they don't, then just forget it.
Telcos and/or governments ought to be able to stop this stuff. Just timewasters. No wonder "productivity" is so low!

Relentless scammers. I blocked all 048887 numbers some time ago after several calls and no message left, but that doesn't deter the dimwits. They try to call every day, at different times.

Recently I've had a series of calls from similar numbers, with two from this number in the last two days. I never answer calls from unknown numbers, but a robot woman calling from this number left the end of its message on the answering machine yesterday - something about contacting an agent - so there's no doubt that they're the usual lowlife scammers. I've now blocked all 048887 numbers.

Caller: A recorded message. (Woman's Voice)

Received a suspicious recorded message asking me if I was interested in having my roof tiles professionally cleaned. The woman's voice then asked me to press 1 in order to leave my address and a contact number. As I was listening to the recorded message, I managed to write down the mobile number from where this message had originated from, and sure enough it was 048887184. I received a similar recorded message only a couple of weeks ago, from an entirely different mobile phone number! I encourage anyone who receives this scam phone call not to leave your personal details under any circumstances, and to write down the number and then report this phishing scam call to Scam Watch Australia immediately!!

These are relentless scammers who call from a range of numbers starting in (03) 04884: so far 1841, 2289, 5617, 9205, 9207 and 8951. I have never answered, I blocked the range of numbers at least a month ago, but the rabid lowlifes will not give up trying.
These are not calls from call centres, or simply unsolicited calls. They have nothing to do with Australian businesses and the Do Not Call Register. They are scammers. Please do not ever answer calls from them or any other scammers. Only answer calls from known numbers. Other legitimate callers will leave messages.

Caller: Recorded Message

Called at 11:39pm in the evening, after everyone was in bed. Message left on the machine was a recording saying 'this call is about the cleaning of your roof and gutters'. Then went on to say 'press 1'. How is 11:39pm not just meant to annoy the recipient of the call? Who is concerned about the cleaning of their roof and gutters at 11:39pm at night? To make things even more unclear, when I checked my call register it turns out that this exact number called earlier in the day, then hung up without leaving a message when the answering machine picked up. This number can't even decide what scam it belongs to! Is it hang ups or robocalls? This is some high-level trolling. It would be kind of amusing if it weren't so constant.

Called today Sat 9 March at 6.30pm sounded like an Indian voice said he was calling from Jetstar and NDIS and they were checking “roof foundations, gutters and solar panels for seniors in our area and it was completely free”.
Hope they’re not offering this service and then claiming from the NDIS as I couldn’t get a straight answer when I asked who was paying them.

Pretty much as above. Sub-continent female voice. Bound to be a scam. Phone companies with the CEOs pulling huge dollars need to get off their ***ses and put a stop to this stuff. It is becoming intolerable on both landline and smartphone.

This number 0488 871 841 show up in my phone's display.
I REFUSED to answer, as I've had a gutful of these anonymous mobile phone numbers that ALWAYS turn out as SCAM.
I hopped on this website... and YEP!!!... turns out to be yet another SCAM NUMBER.
WTF is the multi BILLION dollar Telstra company doing about this?
It's been upwards of 10+ years and we still get scammers.
I live in MELBOURNE.
