Guys, this number is definately a commonwealth bank number.
I recently recieved a text message telling me my personal loan had been processed and I would recieve my funds shortly. At first I thought it was suspicious coming from a mobile number, however I checked my netbank and I also had am email from the bank saying the same thing.
However if you recieve any texts from the bank when your not expecting it then I would definately call them to make sure someone hasn't got a hold of your banking details or anything like that

Two temporary passwords within one minute.
Then 8 minutes later "your mobile number has been updated on your Commonwealth Bank profile"
I don't have a Comm Bank account.
Number now blocked

Obviously you can’t call back this number (yes @commbank, maybe an idea would be to also list your CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER?) Hopeless.

If only I banked with the Commonwealth Bank?

Don't take any notice of this number, if you try calling it, a recorded message will say " the number you have call has been disconnected". Clearly it's a scam

Got text message saying "Your mobile number has been updated on your Commonwealth Bank profile. If you did not authorise this change please call 13 2221 immediately and quote MC01." I did that and called their direct Commbiz number but they had no record of a change of mobile number. I don't know what the purpose of this scam is except to waste time.

This number er us connected with The Commonwealth Bank. They text me reminders from this number that I have chosen to recieve on my online my account.

This person is part of the scam. Please call and go to the bank to verify the number.

cba text alert - was legit and for my account

Think it’s a scam. I noticed suspicious transactions on my card so I locked it - then hours later this mobile number started sending messages reminding me that it was locked and how I could open it again. Coincidence? Better to be on the safe side - blocked.

I got three SMS from this number - it is not CBA's call centre number - and I do not have any immediate travel plans - be careful

Definitely a scam and not the CBA, because the CBA would never txt you.

I think it's a scam. Had two emails also from 'KYC - or know your customer). First one directed me to www.commbank.com.au/kyc which is a fake link and leads nowhere.
They wanted me to upload all this information that the bank either already has, or doesn't have the right to know about me.

Just received the following text on 31/12/2020 at 16:14 hrs from 0488 728 596
“Hi Nick can you please contact me on (I presume it’s 03 area code!) 6711 1253 Regards CBA Launceston”
I don’t bank with them.

Rubbish. Commonwealth Bank (like other companies and Government Departments) don't send message this way. I received such a message today and immediately blocked it.

This is a genuine number from the Commonwealth Bank, likely linked to their online SMS set up (which is why you can't call it back).
