Claiming to be accepting donations for the Federal Police, initially I asked for a phone number to call back on which the gentleman could not provide. The next day I received a call from a private number claiming the same thing, I asked them to please send through email documentation about their donation scheme, how to make donations, etc. The guy became extremely rude and said how could I not want to 'help our coppers'. He said he didn't understand what I needed emailed through, I advised if this was a legit company accepting donations for the AFP there has to be mandatory documentation regarding donations.

It's not a scam (I don't think), it's a countrywide austral who publish newsletters/books to sponsor ambulance/federal police officers. They aren't part of the service, they ask businesses to sponsor them. I did it once but they keep asking for more for different services. I am only an independent, not a business so it's not great.

Some bogan Aussie guy claiming to be from the Australian federal police, i was doubtful since i thought police would speak more formally. I replied "No you're not' he laughed and said "I actually am, do you own a small business called ************?". I said "yes, who is this really" he quickly hung up. Tried to call back the number to find out if it was a prank call, there was a message saying it was an outbound number only. Definitely a scam.

Female voice claimed to be working for Victoria Police VPYC working on a "big project". Had previously gotten a similar call from another number so I was suspicious. Asked if I could get her number and call her back. She got flustered and said she couldn't give me her number (even though I already had it on caller id). So I said I wasn't interested.

Called me on my mobile. He had my email which I'd just updated on a local business listing site yesterday. Told him I don't talk to anyone I don't know and he politely withdrew and hung up.

Me: Yes
Caller: So tell me your name.
Me: Shouldn't you know my name or my business' name if you are the one calling me?
Caller: Obviously you are busy so I won't bother you. *hangs up phone*
