same deal here, got a call to advertise my business but then i felt like it was a scam and never paid. Now they are sending 'debt collectors' but i am glad i am seeing these comments on here, obviously a scam and just ignore.

My husband got a call from a unknown person telling him that he has to pay $ 72.37 because there is no funds in the credit card and it was a direct debit payment to danoz direct and this person requested us to pay it and got the details. For sure we had enough funds in our credit card and this cannot happen.I went though the bank statement and found out that this payment has been taken. I called danoz direct today ,asked them why has they taken extra money. They said that there are not aware of it. I think there is some misunderstanding regarding this matter.Please I want a reply to this as soon as posible

Caller: Countrywide, police ambos kids for kids fire brigade

I wish I'd seen this ages ago. Im having the same problem. Even had a person working with them saying that she was going to be sacked if I didnt pay up.

I told them I was being scammed and would not go ahead with any of the requeted donations they then made threats and constantly called me. The same employee called me and told me that if I paid a smaller amount then she would get her job back.

I got a call about supporting NSW police
and fell for it this week , do you get a cooling off period under consumer law ?
I sent them an email stating they sold advertising under false circumstances and will not be paying any money

Black collections agency are threatening me as well. I have paid the Countrywide bill but Black allege I still owe $164. They have been at it for months saying it was going to court, now they have given me 7 days or a garnishee will be issued. I have PAID the bill so where does this come from and what do I do now. Ignoring them does not make them go away, they ring probably 10 times a day and I have blocked their number. They sent an email last night that was rude and unprofessional. Why should I pay any more to a company that did not follow through with the advertising in the first place.

I was tricked into something, so far I have paid 855 dollars for two supposed ads, it was supposed to support the police in a program to help schoolchildren be aware of the dangers of using illicit drugs. It was nothing of the sort, and they have supposedly put my ad in a streetsmart publication. Even after paying all this money to the benefit of no-one, Black debt collectors have been harassing me for over 6 months because they say I have not payed my bills. I have told them I have records of my bank transactions numerous times, but now they are taking the matter to court. Anyway, I will file a defence, and hopefully be ok.

I just received a call from 0413 088 822. She said they were from the local neighbourhood watch raising money for QLD Streetsmart magazine. Very unprofessional and sounded young.

The price she asked for - $350 for an ad doesn't even match up with the price list for the magazine on the website.

We are getting hassled from Black Collections also...... Are you still being hassled?

I "supported" the Federal Police and Ambos before I realised who the company was after reading this forum. They have since phoned twice for more organisations they claim to represent. I felt a bit stupid because I thought they were genuinely from the Feds and the Ambos. Have yet to see any publications. Lesson learnt. Don't support anyone from a cold call. I'm also surprised that the organisations being used in this way are not more upset at their good images being slung with some mud.

No, if they stated they are from an ads publications, we all for sure will hang up very soon as we don't need their service.
They attack our kindness by saying they are from ambulance related something or police station something and got no support from government that is why we felt it's our duty to help them.
But after all, it turned out to be a scam company to publish rubbish magazines nobody reads and they have no relationships with those stated government associations!
I got contacted for 3 different associations of Firefighter, Ambulance, Police. Already made 1 payment 385$. Now pending for the second which they are chasing as I realized the truth behind.
Already reported to ACCC, waiting to see what should I do next to avoid the payment!
Hope that nobody will get this sh*tty scam anymore!

My husband took a call from a mobile 0435 694 368 who was saying he was calling on behalf of an initiative of the Victoria Police and wanting a donation in the form of advertising to publish a booklet that would go out to every school kid and parent etc. Cost were quoted as $1000, $880 or $400 for and advert. My husband did not order any advertising but gave them his email address. An email arrived with a booking for the $440 for an ad to be listed for the PCYC Victoria booklet with Countrywide Austral listed as the publisher. I know this is a scam and of course getting out of making any payment is going to be horrendous as I know of a person who has been scammed by them for a number of their dubious publications. I will report this to the ACCC.

They called us, we own a small business in NSW saying we could buy a bronze advertising package for $440! This was to support the Fed Police in a magazine and as we are the only small business of our type on the south coast it would be beneficial. OMG what a load of BS. The business owner of this company is apparently one of the richest people in Australia, haha no wonders!

I run a business and sponsor regularly. They never claim to ask for a donation and never suggest to be the police themselves. The police would only think it's a scam if people give the wrong information about what they say.
You're actually running a sponsorship ad like you would for any local sporting club for instance.

Had a call last year from a man claiming to be working with QLD local police. Convinced me to support by paying $330 for advertisement. I thought it would be a great idea. I made one $110 payment two months ago and they still haven't sent me any relative paperwork. Will take to the real police

We received a call this morning from a youngish type male with a pushy rough/bogus style of speech calling himself, Lee Capplan or (Kapplan, Caplin, Kaplin). First claiming to be a NSW Police Officer and then going on to say he was working for a company called Country Wide Austral in Victoria, who, allegedly, prints articles for the NSW police. This person was asking us to support the NSW Police and trying to sell us some advertising. The number he rang from was 0466 443 382. BE CAREFUL!!!
I rang the company and then the NSW Police HQ and reported it and to check if they use this company to print the magazine this person was claiming to represent and gave them all his details. I strongly urge that you do the same if this should happen to you.

Yes I got the same call back in Aug and then an email asking me if I agree to the advertising and then nothing but harrassment since, my accountant looked them up and said they are a scam have changed their name from Country Wide media to Country wide austral their business is recorded as a private business under 000 something and then trading as Country Wide Austral they keep calling me from different mobile phone numbers. 0402 958 570 and 0402 958 857

It's crazy how this number is still active ... he called me 20 minutes ago asking me about my business and name, i told him that it wasn't my business so he hung up..

Claimed to be from victoria police raising money for bluelight. Said his name was Michael King. When I metioned why his number showed up on scamwatch he acted suprised and said what is that. Then hung up the phone.

This number is piggybacking from the recent bushfire here in sa (I assume). Claimed to be from ses wanting money to list small business in a phone directory
How is this number still active?
