Caller: Some dodgy Indian guy

I received a call, first I could not get who it was, I asked what it was about. Then he said someone was trying to use my credit card in Germany for 1000+ dollars, and that he was concerned it was "fraudulent". I asked are you from xxx ? and I stupidly mentioned my credit provider name...and that I don't usually get calls from them, they just cancel the card and I call back to re-instate it. Immediately he asked, is it Mastercard or Visa? WTF???? he would know if it was legit!!! I told him not to worry that I would call them instead. He got really angry, that I didn't "trust him", honestly the poor verbal communication was already a red flag, I am annoyed with myself.

Supposedly from PayPal, asked if I had recently made a purchase of $800 for Nike shoes. Hung up because I always get SMS notifications asap after I make a purchase online from PayPal + no transactions when I log into PayPal.

Sounded like they were in a big office of other callers to....

Said he was from Paypal.

Claimed to be paypal regarding suspicious activity on my account - $800 last night. I don't have an active paypal account so questioned how this could happen. I asked for inbound number or for them to e-mail me if they were legitimate. He sent text message from another mobile number saying that how would he have sent that to my mobile if he wasn't really from paypal, I said because you called me on that number. Became angry when I insisted on asking for the inbound phone number for paypal, advised of mobile number he was calling from. I insisted that legitimate companies don't have mobile numbers as their main customer contact number, he got upset and hung up on me

Caller: Male with heavy Indian accent

Claimed to be from Amazon.
I do not shop Amazon.
Then claimed someone in Germany tried to make purchases on Amazon using my contact details.
"do you know such and such in Germany?"
Nope.
Then claimed someone in the US was trying to purchase other stuff from Amazon using my CC details.
"do you know anyone by the name such and such ma'm?"
I said no, thanks for the heads up, goodbye and hung up.

Phoned me but missed the call. Called on Sunday with number that I never received before!

Caller: Scam caller

Trying to scam amazon details.

A man with an ascent called claiming his from Amazon Australia. Someone used my account in Germany to make a perchase of $2000 and he found it suspicious. He insisted me giving him personal information to verify myself. I said if you have got my details why don't you sent me an email to verify. Then he started the same story again so I hang up

Caller: Scam call

Said they were from Amazon Fraud Squad and someone had made a $3500 purchase on an account linked to my number, could they get my email address to cancel transaction. I refused to give it, and they kept pushing, he eventually said well I won’t cancel transaction then. Felt very suspicious and unprofessional.

Caller: Supposedly Paypal

Said there had been a hack on my paypal account for $750 and wanted my email address etc to verify. When I asked how they got my number he said from the account. I have not linked my number to my account so I told them I was hanging up.
Sounded Indian or similar. Couldn't understand my English.

Caller: Claimed to be: Amazon Prime

Stated that a fake Amazon account had been set up in my name and multiple $2000 transactions had been made. They claimed they needed me to confirm my details to cancel the purchases. They didn't use my name and didn't know what state I lived in. I hung up.

Caller: Man with Asian Accent

Could not hear call properly. Had Asian accent. Call then dropped out.

Caller: State from Amazon

Told me my Amazon account was in debt recovery for $1,800 and I had to give bank details to avoid it

Well lucky that I don’t actually use Amazon then! I Played along by talking in polish until they got bored and hung up! Bloody muppets!
Infuriates me as the elderly will fall foul to scammers like this and give their details worried they’ll have a debt collector coming

Caller: 0480 050 569

Said they were Amazon and that someone had purchased an iPad and a gold ring on my account last night. Poor English. I ended the call.

Absolute SCAM! They said they are from AMAZON and tried to tell me that someone had tried to purchase a laptop in my name. Then attempted to get me to verify my details by sending a "PIN" to me. All on that MOBILE number. Who from AMAZON who contact you on a mobile number? You could hear about 10 or so people in the background saying very similar dodgy calls to others....SCAM.

Caller: Scam call saying from Amazon

Saying he was calling about a $4,000 laptop by a Steve Johnson using my Amazon account and to give him the OTP I had just been sent so he could cancel the transaction. I said I Would prefer an email so that I can see the email address i.e. contacting me from. He advised that I should give him the passcode and then he will send me a confirmation email afterwards. He was getting frustrated when I was refusing to give him the passcode and I asked that he sent me an email and I will give him the passcode from that he then asked me to confirm the email address that I needed it to be sent to to which I advised that if he was calling from Amazon he would already have that information. The more I tested him the more frustrated he got. The more I refused to give him the code the more he threatened that he would approve the transaction to which I advised him to go ahead the money wouldn’t be able to come out of my bank anyway and if it did I would just contact the bank as it wasn’t my transaction. I kept going until he eventually hung up when he realised I wasn’t going to give him what he wanted.

Caller: Supposedly PayPal

Supposedly someone calling from PayPal customer support asking me if I’d bought an item in the last week using PayPal. Hung up on them.

Caller: Amazon

The person said that they were calling from Amazon and that an order i had was having issues, i said I didn’t have an Amazon account. They then repeated the claim and sent me a message with code attached though a different number. Scam be wary of this number.

It is identified as Potential Fraud.
Just block and ignore it. Do not attempt to either answer, call back or click any link.

Caller: Male from Amazon

8pm Victoria time a male of an non Australia ascent Asking for my email address so he can send me a receipt for a laptop purchase today from Amazon. When I said to him I didn’t purchase any Laptop from Amazon he’s like what’s your email address and I will send you a cancelation email.

I also asked what’s the address is it going to he said I can’t give that to you, I said your a scam and I hung the phone up.

He rang back again and again and I just didn’t bother answering it.
