Caller: Fake Amazon

I had a chat with David who was calling from the Amazon. Apparently I had ordered a cannon camera to be delivered to Germany. I offered to send him lots of money and even give him my bank details. He got indignant. All he wanted was a name for delivery. ‘David from the Amazon’ I said. He got angry and said no that was his name. We played this game for a couple of minutes then he hung up on me. I’ve probably opened myself up to more phishing but it’s lockdown and I’ve had wine so I’m happy for the social interaction

Caller: She said there was a problem with my Amazon account

She said my Amazon account had problems and they suspended it but there was a problem with my credit cards I had previously used. I told my Amazon account was closed. She told me which cards I had and the card numbers. Somehow they were able to remove all my money from my banks and it was over $5000 that I lost. Fraud Police are now involved.

Caller: A male with an accent

At 9:00am (WST) he asked me about a transaction via PayPal for an amount of money (can't remember how much). I advised I didn't have a PayPal a/c so couldn't be related to me. He got a little testy & repeated the claim about an amount through PayPal related to me. I reiterated I didn't have a PayPal a/c (& had never had a PP a/c). He got angry & suggested it was a payment made to Amazon from PP (??) & did I want him to cancel it. I said it wasn't related to me & he could do whatever he wanted. He said to check my text messages - immediately, that I would've received a text msg from Amazon - I said 'okay' & disconnected the call. However, sure enough, at 9:02am I received a text msg from Amazon - it stated a 6-digit number "xxxxxx is your Amazon OTP. Do not share it with anyone".

Caller: Supposedly Mike from Paypal

Caller saying they are from PayPal advising that they have detected a suspicious activity and suspected unauthorised transaction on Paypal. Says they identified the suspicious transaction because it is for a sony led tv to be paid in multiple installments and they have put the transaction on hold. Caller requests that I identify my email id. When I requested that they call me back they threatened that I will be liable for the transaction.

A male with an accent said he was from Amazon. He said he had urgent information to tell me about my account. I asked him how he got my number and he actually said in an agressive manner "From Amazon stupid" then he hung up.

Yes this guy keeps calling about a $4000 laptop that we supposedly purchased from Amazon and the guy got angry and he was an Indian and my husband started yelling at him and told him to get f@#^ed. Don't trust the scammer.

Claiming to be from Amazon saying I had an unauthorised transaction for a laptop in China. Said they needed to verify my details over the phone to cancle it. Had my email address and first and last name. They ‘transferred’ my call to their ‘head of billing’s’ so they could confirm my bank details to cancel the account. As I started questioning the hey got very testy and angry. As I said If there was a purchase on my account to cancel it as they should already have my details and I am not giving any further details over the phone, they hung up on me after arguing with me

Didn’t answer but it rang at a lateish hour where I refuse to answer calls from anyone not on my contact list. Based on the comments here, it appears my concerns were valid. I have blocked them.

Don't bother picking up.
Scammers pretending to be from PayPal saying your account has been compromised and to check your credit card details with them.
Idiots!
