Received call saying they were from Victorian Police. They asked 1 question about a business i no longer own, then hung up. Called them back a day later to test if they answer as Vic Police and the service was not available.

Wanted sponsorship for their neighborhood watch magazine going to schools. Said I wasn't interested. They hung up. They had my business name and obviously my phone number.

Received call saying they were from Community Victorian Police initiative. They asked 1 question about a registered business name I have and if I was the owner and if so they had some questions... I asked who they were again for more verifiable information and they repeated their spiel. Sounded local - a 26 year old computer geek running a scam.. glad I looked up the number and found so many other who have also complained of receiving such a BS call

It's a scam business. Even his email landing into the spam mail was suspicious.

Had my name, asked if I was the business owner. Said no and they hung up.

Asked for my name and for me to say yes so obviously trying to hack into my accounts

Missed a call from 0478 287 457 a few hours later, reverseaustralia say this number is also running the same scam.

Caller: Neighbourhood Watch Australasia

I received a phone call from this number asking if my business wanted to donate towards a publication to go out to schools re damage caused by bullying and social media. They said they were from Neighourhood Watch and were working with Victorian Police. I agreed for my business to donate a certain amount. I was told I have 4 months to pay and was sent a link to pay. The man gave his full name on the phone and by email as Fletcher Johnson. I paid this amount and was sent an invoice/receipt from Countrywide Austral in Victoria. So far, I see no problem with this.

phone said potential fraud so thats what I answered with, she claimed to be police, asked if I was the registered business owner, I replied no and bye bye, hung up on them.

These guys are getting company contact numbers off the internet and randomly calling them. They sound incredibly unprofessional and have now called twice on different mobile numbers. Both times I've hung up before they have had a chance to say anything and have blocked the numbers. They are scammers.

He mentioned something about supporting the police's family event. They would love to get business owners onboard to be the sponsors, in exchange for marketing ads running within the community.

Definitely scam.

They asked if im in the business and if im the owner or boss..

Received call this morning. Caller claimed to be calling on behalf of the local neighnourhood watch. Hung up when i asked how did they get my number. Reported this number to the Neighbourhood Watch.
