Text msg from SA Power Networks (Adelaide) yesterday at 5:56pm (from "Paul & the team") - an update on the power outage which had been going on since 8:30am. I had rec'd several such messages during the day, all from different numbers 0408 582 317, 0439 603 528, 0439 460 509, 0439 584 805) I assumed they were genuine because of the massive blackouts that occured yesterday, but why there were several different numbers used, I don't know. After reading many other comments here, who knows what's going on.

Caller: Foxtel

It's a legit number, confirmation from Foxtel about our Technician appointment.

2nd call saying it was Foxtel to confirm an appointment. Don't have one.

Got an SMS saying "you've been selected for a Dept of Employment and Workplace Relations Survey! Complete online to avoid a follow up phone call. Go to survey.employment.gov.au" and they gave a login ID and password. got the same text from another number 0439 603 528)

Caller: Scam FOXTEL

Scam SMS - SDR-Foxtel 131999 - telling me technician will come Monday 13 Feb - confirm, Y, N or change. I don't have a foxtel technician coming Monday - phishing scam?

Had 2 messages in 2 days saying 'your temporary password is xxxx. Please log on using your temporary password which will expire in 12 hours'. Doesnt even say what business this is for

Claiming to be Foxtel yet again! Other times Amazon,BTW I don’t HAVE OR USE AMAZON. SO WATCH OUT.

Caller: Mason Black + Mendelsons

Apparently have an unpaid account with "Australian clinical labs" sent by Mason Black + Mendelsons on 0436 454 057 asking me to call 13001322859 with ref number #.... as a link.. They have my first name now which is scary and they have texted with a different number each day and each day I block the new number

I received a text message claiming to be from Randstad regarding a job they have advertised. I haven't applied for any jobs for five years therefore I won't be replying STOP to opt out.

Text message - Please contact Mason Black and Mendelsons Lawyers urgently on 1300 132 859 quoting your reference, 7#####

Its possible hackers or AI is listening and sending messages that appear relevant, but the tell tale lie is the follow up. It is an AI hack effect I reckon.

COVID-19 WA Response Team Update :
Just to let you know a positive COVID-19 case was detected this morning at the Perth Airport Terminal 2 screening facility within the same window as your visit.

There is no reason for concern. The facility is not considered by Department of Health as an exposure site due to our existing controls such as vaccination, mask-wearing and physical distancing.

As a precaution we ask that you monitor for any cold or flu-like symptoms. If they develop, isolate immediately, contact your leader and get tested.

Caller: Spoke with Female voice

Received a call from 0439 500 416 by mentioning ANC delivery, they want to deliver Samsung TV. They connected with fake address to me. Waiting for TV on 4th Jan 22 to see anonymous people.

Claiming to be SA Power Networks saying power in my street is out. Scammers!

Seems like this number is a prostituted number for other organisations good or bad where they can send you a message without you knowing the ssource number of the message sender, an intermediatery if you please. When I booked parking recently the message came back with confimation pin from this number but reading the other comments here it would seem like all sorts of businesses use this number as a service to keep their own number anonymous. Just my observation here..

Received a message:
“ Morning, urgent shift today, 9-2pm, YMCA Driver OSHC, please reply yes or no, thank you Reply STOP to opt out”
I don’t nor have ever worked for YMCA. Googled it and found out it was a scam
