Exactly the same... I got a text from "Samantha Holmes" asking for only email contact after I posted an ad in GUMTREE!! to sell my camper trailer. Claimed she lived in Darwin, is a Squadron Leader in RAAF and is on deployment ATM hence limited phone contact. Also said that her courier would come to pick up from Perth. Too good to be true!

Just got this message. As I am not with Telstra this has to a great SCAM. be aware.

Says shes a squadron leader at royal australian air force and has been recently deployed.
Said her courier would pick up.

this is a scam, do not give her your bank details or paypal.

I also received a txt message lastnight from a person asking about an ad I had posted, asking to email at s14holmes @ gmail.com and no txts please. I emailed back and have had no reply. I am so happy I accidentally found this complaint page or I wouldn't have known it was a scam- not that I'm silly enough to give out my details though! Why do people do thing like this????!!!!

I had my car advertised for sale on Gumtree. I got the following message:

received a text from this no about buying our caravan unsited from a soldier about to go on deployment????.......it went quiet after refusing to give our bank details.

Caller: Telstra

This is a legit Telstra number. I just spoke to one of the representatives online who advised they'd be calling me to continue troubleshooting through the phone - received a call from 0436 597 000 first and then received and SMS from 0436 597 001 to confirm next steps. All legit, no personal details were asked at any time and representative had a full aussie accent. I'm based in NSW.

Caller: Scammer - saying city of melbourne

Get a text from this number twice telling me it is the city of Melbourne. First text said I was to be issued a refund. The second telling me “City of Melbourne
Update on your case ref. 1168995 We've referred it to Fines Vic who'll mail you with their decision.”

I have 2 messages from the same number, first being YCO recruitment which was fine but then Telstra. I do have a call with them but now I don't know if I want to

This is exactly what it sent "hi this Prabhakar from Telstra I hope your landline and internet is starts working and if you still facing an internet issue please fell free to send the replay sms". The name is Indian. No proper punctuations. Incorrect grammars. Wrong spellings. It has to be a scam

I've been receiving alot of messages and calls regarding a Telstra nbn connection. Not sure what number they came from. I requested Telstra delete my number from the associated service via the Telstra complaints page. Today I received this SMS

Might be associated with the Telstra messages, might not. Whoever it is, they're obviously still actively scamming. BEWARE

This is a scam number and pretend to be a number from telstra regarding nbn connection problem. Don't trust it at all.

I just received this call from so called 000 Ambulance Victoria.

This is the second time in 12 hours this has happened. I received two messages just after midnight and 000 no nothing about the matter.

I suspect that’s it in retaliation to a police attendance that occurred earlier that evening, what is this a warning???

I find it strange they did not sign off with a company's name and tell me what fault they are workimg on. Have no idea!!

Telstra has been hacked. This is a legit number used by Telstra NBN support as well, as of 7th Oct 2019.

Send me a sms at 3 am about my gumtree ad, asking for just email contact. I was suspicious right away but still gave it a go. Could be someone working on nightshift after all...
Then she replied with the same questions and airforce story like mentioned before. I answered her questions and next reply from her was that she wanted to buy unseen.
That was it for me
