It was BUPA who called, gigidy, yes their Welcome Team, gigidy, but really a call disguised as a welcome call to actually see if you want to buy MORE insurance. By the way, I signed up with them recently and got this call today. She told me to check on any item numbers I would have to call them (my prior insurance let me just go on the website and check the item number), gigidy, so I'm calling them now (later in the day), gigidy, so far the wait is 19mins. There is no direct messaging via the website (it gets you to scan a code on your phone instead). Soooo maybe I'll be changing again sooner than I thought!!! #1 rule: make sure your customers get good service quickly, gigidy, BUPA you're now out

Claimed to be from BUPA. Sounded legit at first because I knew BUPA's head office is in Melbourne and she knew my first name. She even said 'this call may be recorded for training' etc. Claimed to be ringing to check on some of my account details. But when I asked for more info about what she was after, she evaded my questions. Told her I'm not going to share anything and that I'm hanging up - she kept trying to keep me talking. Call only lasted seconds but long enough to know it's definitely a scam.

Recorded message saying something in English about 'missing important information'? and then saying something in what sounded like Mandarin Chinese.
A waste of my (our?) time.
Blocked now.
My brother Imar also got the same voice message.

Your call toll bill is about to cause you a fine, please deal with it to avoid penalties. (there's a link it wants me to go to also)
- I haven't been on any toll roads! I don't even have a car atm & last time I drove my friends car was a few years ago...
- I was part of the Optus breach.

This call showed as coming from Parramatta, NSW. After some delay a man's voice with a quite strong Indian accent identified himself as Peter Smith from the NBN and told me that there was a problem with my landline. I told him that I had not noticed any problems, he replied that it was because I was not a technician, he was quite persistent and said that technicians in my area had noticed variations in my landline. I then told him that I suspected it was a scam call and did not wish to continue the conversation. He then used profanity and nono words against me, so I hung up.

They said they were from ebay and that my IP was public and someone was trying to make a purchase with my details. Two staff members provided me with the same phone number that was based in the US yet they were calling from Sydney. Seemed a bit dodge. So I hung up.

Scammer

This call showed simply as coming from Australia. When I answered (saying "hello" two or three times) there was a fairly long delay, then a brief burst of sound which sounded like people in a call centre (overseas). The call was then abruptly terminated (from the other end, apparently). I would say that it was probably a scam call, but they didn't have time to go through their routine. Maybe...

Wouldn’t say his name or company name asked me if I needed social media marketing for my business. The advertising actually works and has helped my business a lot.

My 8 year old son got a new phone from Optus and these idiots call him three times a week. He has had the phone 5 weeks and has no outstanding debts what so ever as he is only 8. So he is a guy who pays debts and he has none other than the phone. So it is not worth saying to people to pay their debts as most like him have an old mobile number and no matter what he says they keep calling. What do we do to stop it?

These people somehow knew about my business and how it needed social media marketing. They don't have different mobile numbers, they use a landline and go through a VPN which creates a different mobile based on where the VPN is accessed. I don't actually mind them calling 3 or 4 times a day. I know it frustrates them and it pisses them off. I don't think they like my choice of radio station I pick for them to listen to. My favourite is the Arabic news hour on abc radio. Answer and then place the phone beside the radio. They usually hang up after a few minutes. They also troll all these sites trying to get evidence on you. They are ex cops and know all the tricks, unfortunately for them, we know them too.

My business failed, maybe I did need the social media marketing.

This was the dodgiest phone call I've ever received.

When the person answered he said his name was Sanna. When I let him know that I had received a missed call from this number and that I was calling back, he took a few moments before letting me know that his name was Ramesh and that he was trying to reach out to [first name of person that I know].

I asked him where he was calling from, how he got my phone number and the reason for his call. He let me know that he can't disclose where he's calling from unless I confirm who he's speaking to. I refused to let him know my name unless he told me where he was calling from (because wtf?!).

This went on for a little while before I told him that there are online forums with dozens of complaints about this phone number that say that "calls from this number are from people who claim to work from 'Credit Corp,' can you confirm that you work for this company?" ... After a while he finally gave in and confirmed that he did work there.

He asked me to ask [the person I know] to call Sanna back on this mobile number.

I told him that I will definitely will not be passing on this message onto the person that I know because this was the most dodgy conversation I've ever had. Just because he was pissing me off, I asked him if I provide the phone number on the Credit Corp group website https://www.creditcorp.com.au/) to the person he's calling for, whether they would be pointed to the correct person. He said no. Geez.

I asked him to remove my phone number from their database and never to call me again.

I will not be passing on any details to the person I know.

I have recently been getting calls from this company. Do not ever talk to them. What they do is completely illegal illegal and they are snakes. They will pretend they are other companies and will lie in order to try and get information about you or others. Never, ever, ever discuss anything. They try to get you to disclose your ID before they even say who they are. Do not answer the phone if you don't know the number. If you don't recognise the number, don't answer the call. If they're legit they'll leave a message, including ID, and you call back, like with normal people. They tried to call again from the same mobile number. I blocked them. I don't owe anyone any debts. I am not discussing things with any dodgy company that is about nothing and only about them getting information they do not need. This company should be jailed.

One of the hundreds of phone numbers they try to call from. Have used crazy tactics to try to make contact but when they won’t disclose who they are and I don’t agree with their ways I refuse to deal with them. Have called neighbours I don’t even know to door knock at my house and make contact. Have somehow found records of my private landlord and they have made comments of “we know you live in —so and so’s— house”, called a very random and distant acquaintance and discovered this must have come about from a Facebook profile pic 6 years ago in which this person commented on and said they would text me... dodgy and sly. Won’t ever disclose who they are without all your personal information first and refuse to disclose where they obtain private information or these other contacts from. They’ll never get a cent out of me.

These parasites have been calling non stop on different numbers for the last 3 hours. 4 times just while tying this.
Stop calling me, stop calling my parents, stop calling my neighbours. Shut your wide greedy eyes and stop rubbing your hands together. Just like this debt, you dont exist to me.

Don't give them the time of day.

Initially what I thought might be a $500 debt bought by a previous debt collector who claimed I owed them $10,000 so I Tried to do the right thing and contacted to request more detail. Never once suggesting I knew anything about that they claim I owed. Whilst waiting for them to provide they took it to court. They blatantly lied to the court and I refuse to the core to be bullied into paying money I do not owe using outright illegal tactics. 6 months later without any payments they sell for $16.000 fave value to these bozos. They are even ripping each other off now. Previous company has already made a healthy profit.
I fail to see how any of what they do is legal. Greedy parasites.
I can’t even trust them to pick up the phone and try to find the origin of this debt.

I believe collectors pay approx 4% of the debt. Why not make one last offer to the debtor of 5% or 8% before sale. Instead of lining their pockets with others misery.
