Caller: Pristine Publishing Pty Ltd and their sh*t friends. A legitimate business (as in registered with ASIC ABN:32 165 411 629) with unethical sales techniques and service that would likely be deemed illegal. They have several business names relating to trendy outcomes such as OH&S and they sell you advertising space in these "magazines". When I dug deeper to look at the business connections I found their "partners" (different business name same entity) also appear legitimate but their website has none of the data that should be used to determine if their marketing service is worth while. The magazine's have little notoriety and don't appear to be published in any significant way. I believe they got my details from an ad. placed in the NSW Street Smart Handbook which by contrast is a legitimate business, nice people and a real publication.

Caller: Neighbourhood magazine As above, tried to scam payment out of me for advertising. Got cranky when I said I didn’t remember talking to her. Hung up when I asked for a recording of the original phone call.

Caller: Julia (i think it was) This lady has called several times asking to speak to my business partner. When I say he's not in the office and ask what it is about, she says its too complicated and longwinded for her to go over it all again. This morning when she called I advised her the likelihood of catching my partner in the office is so minimal she may as well speak to me. She said 'oh, this is above your paygrade hunny, someone in charge has authorised something and she needs to speak to her. I then advised her I was the CFO and Managing Director of my company and assured her nothing was approved without going by me. She said 'you seem a little put out'....ummmm….yeah!! She still, however, would not tell me where she was calling from or what it was all about. She said she would send an email to my partner but that she is happy for me to read it....gee thanks!
It all seemed so dodgy, so glad I looked here! Thanks guys!
Total scam, I am really looking forward to speaking with her again tomorrow!

We did advertise in Street Smart then got scammed for a month by Pristine Publishing who pretend they are all about charity. The female caller was very aggressive. When I mentioned that they looked to be a scam organization if I google them she then said: "There are better ways to make commission than scamming people". Then claimed we had given the approval on the recording and it was too late to back out as it was sent to print (it is an electronic publication). When I asked for the recording she said it was to expensive to recover. She only ever rang from mobile so how was it recorded. I caught her in at least 10 lies in that call. I reported them to fair trading who advised me to send an email to say they did not have a contract and to stop all publishing on our behalf. I never heard from them again. These are ORGANIZED PREDITORS

I actually fell for this and lost about $400😢 Can't believe they scam you out of your hard earned money. They should be reported and be held accountable for their dodgy dealings.

Caller: 0423 689 845 and 0434 083 506 Here are two Scammers as above saying I had pledged to pay for a spot in a magazine, to support Crime Prevention, Child protection etc. They say they called in early July, I was overseas for six weeks starting in late June. So I know without a doubt that it never happened. Watch out I have had about eight calls so far, all from Australian voices sounding so trusting. If they were indian telemarketer types it would look more obvious, but they sound so convincing.

Caller: 0423 680 387 Total scammer. As above comments, says magazine is ready for distribution with our advert in it. When questioned hung up straight away. When I called back I asked who I was talking to and she hung up. Sick of these people trying to say I have agreed to advertising in magazines when I haven't.

Caller: Carolyn Caller advised she was calling from a government department and requested to confirm the company address details for a info pack to be sent-we get this a lot from scammers or telemarketers so I asked her to leave a message and we'd return her call to confirm details. She scoffed and said "we're the government, we don't leave messages" and hung up.

Woman from Neighbourhood (?) Magazine - asked to talk to me by name, said my magazine about to be distributed; said I wasn't aware of this; told me they spoke to me and I would have authorized it - which I had not. Asked if there was a cost to this and was told rudely "of course". When I asked what the cost was she hung up on me; never called me back.
