Caller: Julie Julie phoned claiming she was representing a charity called children with disabilities and she was just wanting to let me know my artwork was ready for approval. I never agree to run campaigns via a telephone conversation and when I expressed this to Julie she claimed that she has a recording from February. Figuring out it was a scam, I hung up. Julie if you read this, do us a favor and take a long walk off a short pier!

Caller: Jess The call i received was the same as most of the rest on this page.
I supposedly had been contacted months ago and now they are wanting Approval for art work in the "Children with Different Abilities" which i have never heard of.
The mobile number that i received the call from was 0422 305 318, see left a message that just said it was Jess could i give her a call back. Being a small business owner, i receive a lot of calls but they would normally say where they are calling from.
Please find attached PDF file located just below our signature. (sometimes its at the very bottom of the email thread instead)

Caller: Children with different abilities For a month or more my husband and I (who run a small earthworks company) have been harassed from people claiming to be from a charity magazine “children with different abilities”. All of the calls have been off different numbers demanding that we pay for an advertisement that we never signed up or approved for. We tell them no and take us off their data base and they either get rude and nasty and hang up or reassure us that we will be. Only to have another number call us the next day or off private numbers. When we ask for a verification email we never get one. Well we finally got one today. They somehow got our details but I’ve reported them to the affairs and then called off the number they gave us in their email. No one answered the first time but they answered the second time and were very unprofessional, “Hello.” I ask for her name and she asked: “my name?” I say: “yes your name” And she says Sarah (yeah sure it is Sarah.) I ask her if this is the correct number for children with different abilities and she says it is. I was very short, sharp and to the point in reiterating our situation with them and also threatened to report her organisation to the affairs of we got another call. She’s says: “okay... yes.” This is literally all she said I reply: “No. not okay yes. You take us off because the next call my husband or I receive and you are reported.” She said she would take us off the data base but never asked for our details and hung up. So I’ll call back in an hour or so and harass them until the calls cease. This is a huge inconvenience for a small company like us who depend on our phone to get work and instead we are dealing with scammers like this. Please report them! Hopefully they get shut down!

A few days later they replied saying they have taken us off their call and email list. I hate being rude to people but I had had enough.

Said that I make a point not to advertise in any magazines due to scams so it's not something that I would have signed up for. When I questioned her to give me more info where she was from she said she was on a time limit and didn't have time for this and said I have to have it because I am a registered business and if I refuse she will send it to tax. Then a guy rang me from 0432 083 687 wanting my postal address as well, got really agitated when I said no and hung up on me. I rang him back and he said it is illegal for me to swear at him and rambled on and then hung up on me. An hour later the woman called and had a go at me and hung up. I think they are a couple team and they are using the same sells spills at Countrywide Austral. I rang Countrywide Austral and let them know. Older woman calling about sending business registry information about businesses in my area. I kept asking why I would want that information and what does it actually tell me. Very evasive. She got my postal address, which is all over my website ago no big deal. Then wanted names and email and fax. Why? Well she wants to send more info randomly. She had an Australian accent but then complained she had been on the phone for to long, 10 minutes!. And hung up. It had been 3.4 minutes.
