A person calling her self Chisty Jossey sends a message re purchase of goods on Gumtree says she will buy and will have an agent pick up goods and will pay the money in full including freight cost. Then she sends instruction for you to forward via western union the freight cost to some wing ding in China.
You receive what looks like a pay pal notice of funds on hold for you to be released on pick up. But when you check with pay pal you find its not real and they are not holding any funds.
The tip off is she and others claim to work for New Zealand oil and gas on an off shore rig. This is a long running scam search New Zealand oil and gas you will find much more and they do not have any staff off shore. You can find warnings on the NZOG site

listed an ad on Gumtree to sell my couch, got an email (huntaywinflow @ outlook.com) from "Theresa" and a few emails later, got the "paypal" confirmation. they started to pressure me, so I did research and found this thread. thank you everyone from saving another person from getting scammed.

BEWARE!!! of anyone wanting to buy anything from you on Gumtree. I received a very quick response today to my newly posted ad. The scammer says she is working offshore for Flagship Marine 5 days off and 25 days (unusual turn around) and asked for my address, and my bank details or PayPal info - it was a red flag to me - excuse the pun. Why anyone would want to buy something from someone living in Western Australia when they were offshore in NZ was another ???

This is the same scam coming up again. I was selling a bed on Gumtree and received a response from Theresa Benson saying she worked offshore for NZ Oil and Gas, 25 on 5 off and wanted to buy the bed for her holiday home in Perth. Things did not look right to me and what she wanted us to do, googled her name and this site came up. So "Theresa Benson" is back and pulling the same scam. Beware. We backed out.

Then they try to change the payment after issuing a fake PayPal receipt saying they have transferred funds to you - she even sent through a photograph of an Australian Passport in that name including passport number (? I wonder is it stolen or fake?)
