Thought it was an AMEX scam at first, got a follow up call about a transaction on the other side of the world. Definitely legit!

Phoned twice in 2 days and did not leave a message. When I return the call without the +61 in front of the number it reports "the phone is turned off, try again later". If I dial 0407 876 543 it says the number is not connected. Legitimate businesses do not phone without leaving a message.

I have received the same SMS message twice in 3 days. On each occasion the time of the message was exactly the time of a payment transaction using Amex at a Woolworths store. The message warned of approaching the credit limit on the card so that was the first warning sign as the card balance was nowhere near the limit. The second warning sign was the request to proceed to aa Amex website with an insecure http address rather than secure https. No way in the world would Amex do that! I have reported the attempts to both Woolworths and Amex. I currently use Woolworths Mobile so perhaps that is related?

“You've recently gone over your credit limit on Amex card ending in 81006. Prefer not to exceed your credit limit? Call the number on the back of your Card.”

I do not own an Amex Card. Was received 25/03/18 10:40pm

I spent $100 on my AMEX card today. I received a text from this number asking if I wanted to cancel the transaction. When I got home I rang AMEX Customer service. They said the number is genuine and was sent to confirm that others were not using the card.

Just received email from AMEX. This is a scam. Email page poor imitation of AMEX and ‘Amount Due’ did not match AMEX statement I received in Dec 2022. Do not respond to this call or attached links.

got this sms first warning me an incorrect pin attempt with my AMEX card and only ask me to go to my account to check. No link or money or info asked. Then later I got a proper email from AMEX reporting the same incorrect pin attempt. Legit.

I think it's legit. I got a text about 5 minutes after trying (unsuccessfully) to use my Amex for the first time in a year. it invites me to log in and view my account details. No link or anything else which could be dodgy

Received about 40 texts from this number in an approx 5 hour period. Knew that no reputable financial institution would intentionally initiate that many texts. Called AMEX on the number on the back of my card. They confirmed it is not an official AMEX number. Definitely a scam. Do not open the texts. Just delete them immediately without opening them

This is NOT a fraud message. 0407 876 543 is a genuine Amex number. I called Amex directly via phone number on back of my Amex card because this number sent me a fraud Alert warning. It was a legit. warning from Amex. If you're unsure about it call Amex directly and speak to them.

These calls are from AMEX. I get text messages from that same no. Apparently it is a subscription service that I didn't know I'd subscribed to, but it is just an update on your card balance which ends with 'Please text STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for info.' Try that!

They called me said it was Australian department of affairs and they had a case against me with someone using my identity and there was a warrant for my arrest. It’s fake

Definitely a scam saying Amex card ending ### bill is due today. I knew it's a scam because I know when my AMEX card bill is definitely due and I know Amex don't send such texts. Do not click on link!
