Attempted to purchase an item via Gumtree from listed phone number and kept telling me he would not provide ID. As a guarantee that he was sincere in his actions of "couriering" an item.
I sadly sent him a small deposit that obviously will not be refunded any time soon

I’ve flushed better quality life forms than this alleged “human “ down the toilet. Trolls through Gumtree adverts, then messages you off the gumtree site pretending to have the parts you want. Cut and pastes Google images of the bits you need and asks top dollar for them. Obviously failed primary school English because they can’t string a sentence together on their texts. Pretends to be at work and can’t talk directly to you. ( The concrete ceiling of the basement they are hiding in probably blocks the internet signal). Call the cops,Scamwatch and maybe even Federal police to give this moron what they so deserve- making some new very close “friends “ in prison.

This oxygen thief also uses the number 0401 635 291, and uses the FAKE identity “Brent” or “Brent Fenton”. Claims to be from Woodbridge in Qld, but is probably stuck in some basement somewhere. Don’t reply to this parasite - do what I did and report the number to Scamwatch, police fraud unit and banks. Sooner clownpunchers like this end up in the big house, the better.

Replied to Gumtree ad through text messages. Won’t talk to you- only texts. Copied photos off Google images and passes them off as parts he (she?) has. Very pushy and persistent. Offered to send parts via courier for free - allegedly through their “work”. Then hit me up for a COVID-19 “surcharge”. Uses a Commonwealth Bank account. Total scammer. Don’t waste your time engaging with this clown. Reported them to Scamwatch, Gumtree, my bank and the police.

Replied to my wanted to buy ad on gumtree claiming to have the item and wanted to take the conversation off gumtree. Googled the number and found multiple complaints.

Very pushy for payment. Not the greatest English. Will go on google images to get pictures of item you're looking to buy.

Caller: Cathy (Gumtree Scammer)

"Cathy" responded to my wanted ad on Gumtree. Said she had one available, and sent through photos, along with bank details for a prompt payment, with a promise of posting the next morning.
With a bit of a google search, I found the images sent to me were stolen from an ebay ad overseas. Called her out on it. She denied it and followed up with an insult.
Glad I didn't send any cash through to this scum.

Contacted me on Gumtree for an item I was looking to purchase.
Even sent me photos of the item when asked for but obviously downloaded online.
Very pushy in getting money transferred. Reverse search his number and you find quite a few people with similar story

Went by the name Glen Jenkinson. Paid a deposit for a fishing rod after he sent photos, the rod never arrived and he won't answer calls or texts. Total scammer!

Same as Brendan. This caller responded to Gumtree ad, took money and is now not responding to calls. Funny though, as he has a bank account to send money to.

Responded to a Gumtree ad, took a deposit, tried to get more money out of me before sending goods. I asked for a refund and he no longer responds to my messages or calls.
