I called back the number (03) 9917 3209 but the call didn't go through Caller: Indian scammer
Yet another "Australian" Dial in Direct number allocated to an Indian scam call centre by Sydney comms company Symbio Networks.
Do not answer or call back, even a simple voice sample can be used for ID theft.
Symbio are well aware that a proportion of their services are used for criminal purposes, but repeatedly falsely claim that they cannot control who uses them.
Caller: Scammer - claimed to be sales rep from Alinta Energy Aus
At 1.10pm I answered a call from this number heard background/call centre noise person said she could help me with price savings with energy bill after govt reduced prices. She said call was recorded for training purposes. She wanted to know if i was notified by my electricity provider that electricity/gas prices had dropped.
She kept me on phone for about 15 mins going through kw/ph prices as i didn't have my bill handy.
Then she put me onto her supervisor named "Ocean" Sales Rep, who again asked me same questions previous person just did. Ocean said she could help me save costs with energy bill had my email and suburb. Ocean told me that she could see my mb number was on Do Not Call register and gave me another 1300 number to ring to disconnect from there for 24 hrs while her other rep would ring me back to validate further info within in 30 mins time. 5 mins later they rang me again whilst i was on hold with someone else. They asked me again if i had rung DNCall register to disconnect - i told them i was working and waiting on on another call and told them to ring me back later - caller was very rude, impatient and didn't listen to my request so i hung up.
I googled the company Alinta Energy and found legit website and called their number to verify/inform of my call was legit from them or SCAM. I also googled local number that called me (03) 9917 3209 which brought me here.
I was on hold and spoke to receptionist at Alinta Energy Australia and told them of my call. They put me on hold approx 2 mins whilst investigating further with their sales team. Alinta had no record of my name, mobile or access to any of my details and no one called Ocean in their sales team. BINGO! SCAM CALL!!
At approx 3.30pm i received two consecutive calls straight after each other which i ignored, from another local number (03) 9034 9773. I have now blocked both local numbers.
Hope this helps any of you out there scammers are getting more clever by the minute. Sorry for long winded post above!
I do not answer unsolicited calls and they did not leave a message. I called back the number and received a message stating "This number has been disconnected due to suspected or actual fraudulent activity". I answered call and no-one there. Dont answer or call back. This is a spam call. Caller: Scam for sure

Received a call from some Indian bloke who knew my name. Asked me to confirm it and rattled off his spiel about saving money on my electricity bill. I asked how he got my number and to take me off this call list and he just hung up on me.
voicemail was left but only "hello, hello" nothing was said.... Didnt call back because my phone identified this as a spam... Energy comparison provider - cold sales call Caller: aussie hub???
i get these calls at least daily if not more often, i have told them many times to take my off their list, today i demanded the name of the company and she told me Aussie Hub, which is an indian immigration company from a google search???? but said she was calling about energy costs....again! she hung up when i told her i would be reporting to consumer affairs.
I said hello n hear nothing from the other end Caller: Energy Offer, either Solar or New provider.
Indian call centre operators 2 days in a row. I forgot to block the number yesterday and got another call. I usually ask them who they are and why are they calling rather than confirm who I am at all. then tell them I have never engaged their company or asked for their services. Do you have an electricity account, none of your business, are you the account holder - again nobody's business. Thing is you should never speak to them as even if they are a legit business, they can and do sell the voice tapes to not so legit businesses. The words not to say are Yes, I am, I do or anything which could be used to say you agree to anything. That is why they ask your name and ask if they are speaking to you. when they say, Yes, I am thy have you recorded. You can get savings, again none of your business. I know I should hang up but they make me so mad. If I wasn't job hunting I could leave these numbers. In fact it is because of the job hunting that my details are out in the ether as many of these so called 3rd party HR software providers on sell their info lists.

Calling about cancelling my internet when i don’t even have a provider, called me 5 times in 2 hrs then I finally answered to robo lady saying my internets going to be cut off... so annoying! A representative with an Indian accent talked about an electricity account, I have no idea who they are. I hung up the phone. Caller: (03) 9917 3209

Don’t answer and don’t call back. Absolutely a scam. Reporting them and I’d suggest anyone else to report them as well

paid power bills =- could be voice fraud. Line dropped out or they hung up
