Indian guy from noisy call centre. Pretending to be from Telstra saying they detected we had internet issues & hackers using our service. I said that's because of all the porn I download. Started to describe a superficial porn seen to him and he surprisingly hung up on me the rude fellow.

I have received a lot of scam calls ... this one was Asian female ..declaring from 'Telstra' and very persistent. I decided to play the game! We got to a point where she wanted to get into my computer to show me 'how I am getting ripped off'! (I am not with Telstra) I then asked where she got my landline number (which is not listed anywhere ). She said that my computer sent it to Telstra because I was in trouble with the internet. (Jeez the B.S just ran off her tongue) ! I asked her to hold for me (which she did) ... I cranked up some heavy metal music on my computer (full volume) and placed the phone next to the speaker! She still persisted ! (I could hear her calling out to me). I ran the music for 5 minutes - and she was still on the line!! I finally shut it down ... she must have decided that she had conned me and was perhaps looking forward to her commission!! This number is everywhere on "who calls me"

This number has been calling my mobile for over a month. Usually when I answer, the call is disconnected or the scammer hangs up. Today, a man claimed he was from Telstra and they received reports my internet connection was being hacked and I needed to log in to prevent them from accessing my details (ironic). He hung up pretty quickly after I told him I wasn’t with Telstra.

called my mobile whilst driving. I 'did the courteous thing and pulled up and returned the call and was surprised to hear the message that this number is not connected. rang it again and confirmed not connected. when you have answered a scammers call have a whistle and blow as hard as you can - the pain for them will be memorable.

A very similar story. Rang to say people were using my home internet and were hacking into my computer without me knowing.
He got me to follow some prompts. I then hung up on him. When I called the number back, it was disconnected.

Indian lady called me saying that there were people trying to connect to my internet and that needed to go on my computer and check some information for her. I told her it made no sense that Telstra was calling me because they’re not my service provider. She was very arrogant and rude saying that Telstra provides Internet for every company in Australia and that they act as the technical department for every internet company. I said it doesn’t matter because Telstra is still not the ISP I have registered with so I should be hearing from them on any security problems, and that I know for a fact that my ISP has a technical department. She then stuttered and started getting angry at me so I just played along and said I was in front of my computer and she gave me a few instructions and I said I couldn’t understand her English very well which angered her even more, then she hung up. Definitely a scam.

Tells you he is from telstra.
Then gets you to look up netstat
Then gets you to look up netviewer
Then tells you you have viruses
Then wants you to download anydesk.com remote control for your computer. I hung up on him at this point.

So goal is to take remote control of your computer.

So it is a scam of some description

Claiming it's about home internet from Telstra and if I've received it. It's spam. It's not Telstra. Best is to waste their time (and money) by asking if they could stay on the line while you look through your records, ask them how they're doing, if they had a good weekend, tell them about your latest shopping experience and if they had any tips for you. Then when they finally hang up, block the number.
