I really hope people aren't being sucked into this, It sounds like a scam to for older people to tell them if you have money.
As it is ringing I check number on my computer. Definitely don't answer numbers I don't recognise. EVER !!

Caller: Melbourne Advance Somebody reading from a script and speaking quite quickly. They claimed to be from 'Melbourne Advance' to find out how people are coping financially in the pandemic, and very quickly lanched into a question about my age. I said 'I'm sorry, I don't know who Melbourne Advance is, who is this?' And they said 'Ok, I'm sorry' and hung up.

Caller: My phone automatically recognised this as spam/scam and did not allow call. Looks like this has made the spam/scam register. Reading the comments below, I'd suggest it is a scam to STEAL $10,000 allowed withdrawal from YOUR Super due to the Pandemic. That's why they want to know if you are over 58 years old. People over 58 can already access their super.as they have reached the preservation age and do not need to use the special access granted under COVID-19. BEWARE they COULD STEAL your ENTIRE SUPER if you give them details.

Caller: Melbourne Advance I used to get a call every month or so, so I requested a call back for whatever service they were operating - which came through from a person a few days later. Have them a serve and demand to be taken off the call list - their market service number is 1800 038 038. No Calls in recent months. Hope it is still current and this helps people.

Caller: Melbourne Advance I just got a call from Robo-Jasmine from Melbourne Advance from a private number again. I hung up immediately again. I don't know how many calls I've had from this crowd but it's a lot. I tried blocking private calls but found I was then blocking my doctor (phoning from a number other than the clinic's number), the real ATO needing to talk to me about my tax return and other important calls that I want to take, so blocking is not a solution for me. The Government needs to step in to deal with this. I know many elderly people who get frazzled by these sorts of calls.
